Some dates have now been added for the changes:
http://www2.ebay.com/aw/uk/200909.shtml#2009-09-21115424
Some have apparently already happened like this one:
When does this change take effect?
eBay is scheduled to remove P&P insurance from new listings on the site on 22nd September 2009.
Most of them start on October 1st including this one which is the one I had issues with and have been whinging about for ages:
http://pages.ebay.co.uk/sell/sellerupdate/minimum-standards.html- From 1st October 2009 all eBay sellers (including PowerSellers) will need to keep their number of transactions with DSRs of 1 and 2 for item description below 3%. For communication, dispatch time, and P&P charges we’ll be looking for no more than 4% of transactions with DSRs of 1 and 2.
- If a seller’s rate of 1s and 2s goes over these maximums they’ll get lowered placements in searches and may even face limits on selling activity until their ratings improve.

Also don't forget free postage on media from 19th October which will affect many sellers on here:

I wonder how many found out they were 'below standard' this morning? Me for one. My DSR average is perfectly fine it's this 1s and 2s thing.
I've been bulk selling magazines recently with a reasonable courier cost (I use a decent carrier and not DH Hell). The trouble occurs is when someone buys 4+ lots, I guess they have the expectation of some huge shipping discount. The irony is that the seller I believe gave me low ratings recently has come back for more! Packing is a difficult call, I'm aware some people don't include their costs for fear of lower ratings.
I'd hope someone would contact me to say something before leaving a lower rating, but then as buyer I give 1s and 2s so one can't complain.
DSRs seem to have become more important than feedback itself (I've never had a negative/neutral in 5 1/2 years on the site). I know I write brilliant descriptions and always put a ton of effort into my listings however P&P can be the killer to pitch right. Hey ho. . .least I've shifted most of the stuff I wanted to. Seems a shame that I'll be stuck with a lower standing for 12 months as I don't sell 400 items per 3 months. Then they make the rules and when we sell that's what we have to take into account. We'll see how this all pans out.0 -
I've just checked mine even though I have been avoiding it for a while. My 12 month total show 1 x 1 or 2 * for item as described and another for postage costs, but luckily my 30 day total shows nothing.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. I admit I've had a selling blitz in the last couple of months partly because of this looming up, well that and having a ton of stuff that needed to be shifted. It does make me wonder just how many people will end up 'lowered'. IMO it should be 6 months rather than 12 for non bulk sellers. Perhaps eBay will tweak the system if there's a huge amount of sellers affected.0 -
i am totally confused now ( doesnt take alot) with this new rating thing
i have had a look at my dashboard and its got 4.8's etc and then 0.00% next then them all, what does this mean? i have only just started selling againWork to live= not live to work0 -
The 0% is good especialy if it is your 30 day total as it means you have no 1 or 2 * in any category.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.
