Hi, what about a fleecy blanket each to get cosy while watching your dvd. Nearer christmas you might be able to get Christmassy themed drinking cups/beakers. Christmas plate to put mince pies on for Santa?

Last year I did a christmas eve box for grandson (he was one and half then) in it was:
    Flannel reindeer
Little towel with embroidered reindeer on it
I stuck a snowman on his Johnsons baby bath stuff
Reindeer food (gravy tub with small bag of crushed weetabix in) for him to throw out for santas reindeer
    Letter from Santa
Little story I wrote for him
Door hanger saying 'santa stop here'

    Can't think what else.
This year I'm adding to it with some robin redbreast christmas breakfast -I've got some small flower pots I'm filling with bird seed and putting a little robin on the top
He's also getting an empty coffee creamer jar I' ve decorated with googly eyes, hat(upside down sock) and scarf that I'll fill with marshmallows as snowballs
I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

What about finding a copy of "T'was the Night Before Christmas" - a book or download a copy online and start the tradition of reading it at bedtime?

Hot chocky and marshmallows, pjs, teddy, book, sweets, letter from santa i really like the elve idea that i read about last year will have to find some elves lol
  • thanks all, i have decided to fill the hamper with
pjs, dvd, bun/biscuit mix, santa plate to leave bun/biscuit out for the big guy!, reindeer food (which ill make using the glitter sugar stuff), little torch each so we can throw the reindeer food out at night and see it glitter, magic key, door hanger, flannel reindeer, letter from santa, twas the night before xmas (great suggestion!) and possibly a snowman soup for us all to watch the dvd and sweets.

loved that elve idea also, but i will get it out maybe a week before xmas in the hope that theyll behave 4 a few days!

    I did one last year for DD's (then age 4 & 1 3/4).
They had PJ's, toothbrush, bath smellies (lush do a childrens Xmas one), book (we got 2 of the Xmas story ones with their details in for 1p last year), china cup for the eldest & plastic cup for youngest, hot chocolate, craft item for both (youngest was sticking paper & eldest was making a santa stop here sign), Xmas DVD, popcorn, reindeer food.
We also had one for us adults!
I popped upstairs whilst everyone was having lunch & put them on the relevant bed, then asked DD to go up & get something for us....
I will do it again this year. We have my parents with us this year so I will have to do 2 extra.

My daughter made a no sew blanket, used 2 Ikea fleece throws, for her little one last yr, almost 3yrs. She also put his name on it, just 4 letters so quick to do. They then after his bath with new pj's etc sat cuddled up in the blanket and had bedtime stories.
PS The blankets are so eay to do if you can use a pair of scissors! LOL

    Loving this thread! :T

My son will be 20 months old for christmas 2009.

For his stocking i'm planning on putting - magic stars (chocolates), toy trains (he's mad about anything with wheels), toy cars, a few satsumas (this has always been a family tradition), toothbrush, toohpaste, a thomas the tank engine DVD and a letter from santa (will have to search for this)

For his christmas eve hamper i'm planning on putting into it - new pyjamas (traditional), a blanket, crayons, colouring books, snowman soup (will adapt it to be inside a beaker), reindeer food, snowman soap (bar of soap wrapped in a flannel), a bottle of matey bubble bath, a pack of biscuits and a story book.
