hello!!
orange have just changed there terms and conditions by putting prices for calls up by 5p every minute if you go over your contracted limit so by doing this they have infact voided their contract with you and you are well within your rights to get out of your contract!!!!
every orange customer should get a text making them aware of the changes so as soon as you get the text phone or visit orange and demand you want out!!
some orange sa say you need to have the text as proof or wait untill u recieve it but i have friends go in and say they had recieved the text and hadnt.
orange have expected everyone to recieve the text by mid august but there will be a cut off date that u can act. so be quick!!
i had a friend that took out an orange contract last month which he also recieved a wii so he got out of the contract kept the new phone and the new wii and took aout a new contract and got £250 cash back!!!!!
orange have also told me that other companys have changed there conditions but orange are the only ones letting customers no so might be worth a call
HTH

I had a text yesterday from O2(PAYG) They're also changing their price plans on 10th August.
No idea what this entails as you have to call to find out.
Obviously what Orange say about other companies making changes is true.0 -
If you had actually bothered to read what was written, you would have seen that the wii was already received for the one month old contract that has just been cancelled, and the £250 cashback will be for the new contract that they have just taken out with another provider. No reason why the new network shouldn't pay the £250 cashback for the new contract. Thanks to all who post constructively.
Have an A1 day!0 -
The op is merely informing us, it's useful for people who are stuck with a contract which they don't want anymore or if they have seen a better deal elsewhere0
-
Apparently its a load of rubbish. They will have put the charges up in line with the RPI so they are well within their rights. Try and cancel and you will get brickwalled0

There is already a thread about this on the mobiles board.MF aim 10th December 2020 :j:eek:MFW 2012 no86 OP 0/20000

Sorry m8 - your bang out of line here, you really shouldn't comment when you don't know what your talking about. Why would you call someone a moron, when they're trying to save you money?
I have personally just cancelled 2 contracts today -- Including 4 months into an 18 month contract with a LG Renoir. Orange haven't got a leg to stand on legally (price increase is well above RPI ) - theres a massive discussion on HOTUKDEALS. search for "cancel orange"
Had one cancelled with no problem and another with nearly 2 hours on the phone and a callback. I just wanted to post what i think is useful to bear in mind and that it is vital for
a) the operators always to believe that you know what your talking about (even if you don't) - e.g. - ask them for and operator code / extension or unique identifier
b) you to make them aware that your recording the call
c) you to say that want to know about the formal complaints procedure - that orange are required to inform you about by Ofcom
d) to remember they don't have a leg to stand on legally as the contract has changed to your detriment and anything they say about a legal team is nonsense - their own T+C's on orange.co.uk stipulate that. - I didn't but i would ask who their legal team are - you could even ask for them to formally explain in a letter why they wont disconnect when they are clearly in breach of their own terms. (very last resort)
BE VERY FORMAL AND LET THEM KNOW THAT YOUR NOT STANDING FOR ANY NONSENSE
*****PLEASE DO NOT********* :
- ACCEPT A CALLBACK (say you will wait on hold for 15 minutes at a time )
- ACCEPT AN UPGRADED CONTRACT (if the deal is impossibly good - then say you need time to think and to continue with the disconnection) - you can always accept later after scouring the market first
- GIVE UP - if one operator says no and seems really tough ring again and again and again until you get one who disconnects you
FORGET - Alot of contracts are worth in excess of £1000 during their lifespan (including handset) - treat the phone call accordingly and devote a bit of time reading about first - so you don't get stuck when your in conversation with the CSR.
GOOD LUCK - YOU CAN GET YOUR CONTRACT CANCELLED
oh yeah almost forgot - never got any texts, so that's definitely not necessary.
READ THE ADVICE - CANCEL YOUR CONTRACT IF YOU WANT - DON'T TAKE NO FOR AN ANSWER - YOU MAY HAVE TO RING A FEW TIMES BUT COULD POTENTIALLY GET YOURSELF OUT OF AN EXPENSIVE CONTRACT0 -
PRAYING 3 mobile follow along and do the same.
I want to end my mis-sold contract SO MUCH !!0 -

3mobile would be facing a Cuban style exodus if they did.
On a more serious note - if your contract was mis-sold to you - try contacting Ofcom and launch a formal complaint. When i was on three - they did have a call centre in the UK i think - if you could get through to there you might get somewhere.0 -
Those who are happy with Orange, you can always call then saying that you are thinking of leaving, they will always offer u something to make u stay. They offered to double my minutes or to give 5 pound discount. At the end, I cancel my 25 per month contract and get a new contract with nokia 6700, 18 month contract, 200 mins and unlimited txt for 10 pound per month. Someone else got better minutes than me but I don't really mind as I usually use less than 100 min per month. Just want a new phone with 5mpixels cam ..:)0

Really? Any changes in t and c of contracts after being taken out would entitle you to cancel as others have akready done.0
