If you're buying a can of pop there's a way to get a free 50p credit for your PAYG or monthly mobile phone, up to a max of £4.

Simply buy any promotional 330ml can or 500ml bottle of Fanta, Sprite or Dr Pepper, and you'll get a special code to redeem online that's worth 50p of mobile phone credit, pay-as-you-go or pay monthly customer. Networks included in the promotion are 3, Asda Mobile, Blyk, O2, Orange, T-Mobile, Tesco Mobile, Virgin Mobile and Vodafone.

[title=http://images2.moneysavingexpert.com/images/dp/wtd_underline.gif]wtd_icon.gif Which flavours are included?[/title]

Promotional cans and bottles are 330ml cans of 'Fanta' Orange, 'Fanta' Orange Zero, 'Fanta' Fruit Twist, 'Fanta' Icy Lemon, 'Dr Pepper' & 'Sprite', 500ml promotional bottles of 'Fanta' Orange, 'Fanta' Orange Zero, 'Fanta' Fruit Twist, 'Fanta' Icy Lemon, 'Sprite', 'Sprite Zero', 'Dr Pepper' & 'Dr Pepper' Zero.

Cans usually cost around 60p, bottles 97p, special offers are excluded. Click reply to post where you've seen it cheapest.

[title=http://images2.moneysavingexpert.com/images/dp/wtd_underline.gif]wtd_icon.gif How do I get the credit?
[/title]

Once you've bought your can(s) register on the special Gimmecredit website. Click on the "Enter code" tab and type in your mobile number and the 10-digit code that's under the ringpull. Then choose your mobile operator from the drop-down list. Once you've clicked on submit you should receive your free credit within 2 days.

PAYG customers will get the credit added straight to their phone, if you're on monthly contract you'll get it knocked off your next bill.

[title=http://images2.moneysavingexpert.com/images/dp/wtd_underline.gif]wtd_icon.gif When does it end?

Promotional packs are available in August (while stocks last) though you can redeem your free credit up to 30 October 2009.

  • I had posted this in the forum (Low-Spend Freebies) but when I went to look back at it, it seems like it's dissappeared or deleted.
    I spent over 15 minutes typing in the T&Cs to ensure clarity.

    I had posted it with my ipod touch

    Would this be multi-packs too?

    When this was posted by somebody working for the drinks company they said it was avaliable on multipacks

    I don't think this has filtered through to multipacks, I tried finding a multi pack in Tesco but nothing on Tango or Dr Pepper. Although there are single packs available. I imaging that single packs shift faster than multipacks and hence the limited availability.
  • Hi

    Yes, we did ask about multipacks as that would have been a great loophole but we were told unfortunately it's only on individual cans and bottles.

    Andrea :)

    I think a better way of stating this would be "Buy £4 phone credit and get 8 cans of drink for 80p" That's a more attractive way of putting it.

    Also, I assume that the maximum is per phone number so if you have multiple phones you can top up £4 for each one. Wonder why they capped it at only £4 though

    Not really as that implies that it only applies to pay as you go and not pay monthly as stated in the terms.

    It is strange since the free itunes promotion on Coke seems to be limited to a reasonable number of tracks and a itunes download costs 79p. (I can only assume that they think no one will download them all, i.e. not to peoples taste)

    I've also just moved to Vodafone and I've been checking to see what texts are included in the inclusive texts. What I don't understand is why the text number for this promotion is a premium rate text number and thus not included!

    £1.49 a bottle in motorway services, about the same as usual, but without any sign of this promotion

    Perhaps some of those spamming employees should have done some logistics work and helped get the stock into the shops
  • I know that Dr Pepper, Sprite and Fanta Bottles are included in the Buy 2 for £1.60 at Tesco so your only paying 30p bottle. Not bad since cans can be up to 70p each.
