Sky are destroying our lives

Long story short..
Had Sky Broadband on business line since last June. Service pretty unreliable and completely non-existent now since May 2009. Lost patience and decided to change provider. Sky managed to cancel account on business line but somehow created an active tag on personal phone line (which has NEVER had their broadband) - also meaning that I may have to continue payiong for a second BT line until we can finally get broadband on personal line. Now cannot get new provider as constantly told there is a tag but new providers cannot remove and Sky deny. Husband now spent approximately 25 hours on phone to Sky - persistently cut off (usually whenever he asks for manager's name). Told by Sky that we have made a mistake over which line we had broadband on!!!! OFCOM an absolute chocolate fireguard and as threatening as a de-clawed, toothless kitten. It appears our only option to get rid of the Sky jokers once and for all is to change our phone number - like that's going to happen.
Can't book honeymoon, can't email friends, can't work from home at all so have 6 hours communting every day and have barely spent any time with new husband as he spends all evenings on telephone on hold to Sky.
Thinking VERY EVIL THOUGHTS about everyone involved. Considering taking legal action if anyone has any pointers - Cannot do much internet searching as obviously only have access whilst at work.
Any advice much appreciated, or will happily listen to other people venting as know how stressful and ridiculous these situations get

You might do better by posting on the https://www.skyuser.co.uk forum.
Sky employees post there and may be able to help. That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -
Hi,
I work for bt and this usually works.
Just give bt retail a call on 0800 800 150 ask for broadband sales team, once threw state you are interested in bt broadband and vision tv (make sure you state you are interested in vision tv otherwise the advisor wont be interested). Just tell the advisor you have been told there is a tag on the line and if they could call the tags team (bt wholesale) to request the tag to be removed (expect to be on hold for a while as the tags team are very slow), it normally takes 24 hours for this to be done (if you get a good advisor, he/she will do this as they think it will end up with them getting a vision tv sale). wa la tag removed! hope that helps0 -
Sky are destroying our lives...
I thought that was going to end with ...by forcing us to watch Sky 3
Sounds like a nightmare you've gotten yourself in to. Why not just get a new provider to install a brand new line? Have you though about trying mobile broadband until this problem is sorted? Most mobile braodband sellers will give you 7 days at least to return if you have a poor signal.
Sounds to me you're getting in more of a mess by being angry. Do something to sort it. Cancel Sky and any other services you have and start afresh. If it means getting a brand new line do it.0 -
Hi All,
In response to aaronw post, This will work if you are changing your Broadband provider to BT, if you are only trying to get the TAG removed but not signing up to a Broadband service with BT, this could result in BT placing a new TAG on the line, because after all you would have expressed an interest BT Broadband service.
It is up to your chosen Broadband provider to deal with any TAG's on the line issues you might have.
Thanks
Patrick
