T-Mobile bargain - i'm a happy bunny!!

I was chuffed with this so I thought i'd share.....

I was paying about £15 per month line rental for 200 off peak minutes with T-Mobile. Wasn't tied into a contract because I'd been with them more than 12 months and hadn't upgraded. Thought I'd see about changing to the 'flext' thingy to save a bit of cash as I was paying about £25 per month in total.

Rang up and after a bit of cheekiness managed to change to flext 25. Should be £25 pm for £60 worth of calls or texts but on offer at £18.75. Because I don't want to upgrade my phone I got a further discount of £10.

So.... £60 of usage for £8.75 per month :j

Only catch is 18 month contract and no new phone but don't need one and didn't want to change anyway!

Just changed my contract the Flext.

    It's a £35 a month contract with a discount which means i pay £26 a month instead.

For that i get £180 pounds worth of credit a month.

The only catch really is a text costs 10p, voicemail retrieval is 10p a minute and a call costs 20p a minute which is slighly more expensive than average but this is then deducted off the credit amount and i can check how much credit is left by dialling 150. Also T Mobile send a text to you at the end of the week stating how much credit you have left. When you have used all of the credit the calls are slightly more expensive - 12p per text message. So all i need to do is make sure that i stay within the credit of £180 a month and then my monthly bill should only be £26 a month.

Now this is how i understand it from what has been explained in shops and T Mobile customer services.

Does this sound correct to anyone as i haven't received my first bill yet.

I rang the standard 'contact us' number from the website, but I think I pressed the upgrades option on the automated thingy.

I just asked if they would do the £10 discount (advertised on their website) on top for not having a new phone - thoroughly expecting to be told that you can't combine that with the discounted flext rates - but luckily they did! If you don't ask you don't get eh??
