Default £120 off Virgin TV, line rental, weekend calls and broadband

What's the deal?

New customers signing up to Virgin Media cable bundle via special cashback website Quidco can get £120 cashback - £60 more than usual. This ends Fri 5 June so go quick!

What's available?

The £120 cashback applies on all Virgin cable packages. So for example, over a year you'd normally pay £280 for landline, TV, weekend calls and broadband which is an average of £23.33/mth. (Inc free installation & a £20 online discount). With this deal it's £160, an average of £13.33/mth.

Remember a landline on BT or TalkTalk costs £11.25 alone, so this is a cracking deal, if you're planning on getting a Virgin package.

One important note is that making calls via Virgin, especially to mobiles, is expensive, so if you do get this package read the Calling Mobiles Cheaply guide to cut the cost.

WARNING! Cashback site payouts are never 100% guaranteed.

Cashback sites are specialist websites that list retailers/product providers and get paid if you click through them. Importantly they then give some or all of this cash to you. If you're new please read the Best Cashback Sites guide before continuing.

As cashback sites rely on retailers paying them, you can never count cashback as a sure thing until it's in your bank account.

How to get this deal

  • Register at Quidco. If you're not already a member join (it's free)cashback site Quidco*. It takes £5/year off your total cashback paid so if this is the first cashback deal you've done you'll get £115.
  • Then click from it to Virgin. Once you're registered and being tracked at Quidco, use its links to Virgin, and you'll be on Virgin's site, just like normal. Yet this way your actions are being tracked and if you purchase it'll be registered to you.
  • Be careful if you've visited Virgin recently. There's a very small chance in this case you'll have a cookie on your computer (a small piece of tracking info) that means the sale won't be registered to Quido.

If you have you need to delete cookies; something you can do by following the instructions in your browser (usually either Internet Explorer, Firefox or Safari... if it's not one of these, you're probably a techie and know all about this!)

£60 for non-cable packages, have a read of Quidco notes.

does anyone know if you can take out just a phone and tv pack for a total of 11 pounds per month (lowest package) and still qualify for cashback? Or must you take broadband too?

Quidco states 120 back for all cable package / bundles.. the way i see it the above is a package!

Thanks

Exclamation Cash back beware !!!!

Just a note reference cashback and Virgin Media. Last August my parents and myself applied for 2 separate full accounts through "We Promise To", who advertised £100 cashback for each account.
Both accounts are still up and running and no payments ever received for the cashback.
After some 10 months of investigation the website "We Promise To" has finally advised that Virgin will not honour the cashback promise. In conclusion don't expect to get cash back from Virgin

Thumbs up 20% off Sky subscription

Just called to cancel sky sports and a few other packages and I was offered 20% off my current subscription for 6 months. Made a saving of £9.20 and I get to keep all my packages, for not much more than the cost of removing the sports package alone.

cashback is always a bonus and not a right, i have had loads cancelled or rejected over the years with no valid reason. please bare this in mind. But if you get the cashback this is a great deal.

Hey, newbie here, long time reader etc. etc.

Can anyone tell me why quidco has given me £65 of credit for signing up to this? Is it the case that it can come in installments? Just seems strange as the only two options were £60 or £120, and I'm in no mans land.

Cheers

I'm relatively new to Quidco, never used it for something like this, so my only guess is that the rest comes through post-installation, although I'm not sure why they would do it like this, any help would be appreciated.

Hi I've spoken to Quidco who've assured me that even though it's tracking at £65 you will get the full £120 for cable bundles. It's going to add a note on its terms to that effect.

The Virgin prices are misleading - you need to add £11 per month line rental, even when you're buying a bundle that includes the phone.

Default Thanks for lead

I signed up last night. Cashback on Quidco already shows (at £65 - will wait for that to transform magically into £120). Was going to sign up anyway so bonus!

It is true that Virgin are misleading with pricing. Wanted Broadband, but can't get without telephone line (extra £11). Comes to £25pm. However, you then see that TV comes "free" if you want it. Personally not that bothered as I have good freeview.

Bottom line for me - still works out little cheaper than BT for phone and BB. Will now get 10Mb broadband instead of the 1Mb that BT could supply me.

(Hmm... wonder if BT will come up with various charges to punish me for leaving them!)

Default Be careful of line rental

Navvy is right - Archna you don't seem to have factored in the obligatory line rental in your calculations....

"The £120 cashback applies on all Virgin cable packages. So for example, over a year you'd normally pay £280 for landline, TV, weekend calls and broadband which is an average of £23.33/mth. (Inc free installation & a £20 online discount). With this deal it's £160, an average of £13.33/mth.

Remember a landline on BT or TalkTalk costs £11.25 alone, so this is a cracking deal, if you're planning on getting a Virgin package."

The above doesn't allow for the £11 charge that Virgin levy for the line rental.
The Virgin site puts a little asterix next to it's bundled packages and the small print below details the line rental.
Pity - as it would have been an unbeatable deal otherwise.
Still better off with freeview or freesat and a separate phone/broadband provider.

Archna is right!

£14 p/m for phone, tv, and broadband = £168
£11 p/m line rental = £132

Total = £300 - £20 online discount = £280 - as Archna quoted!

I agree that the asterisk is a wee bit cheeky, but everyone seems to have noticed it at least.

I had been thinking of signing up, and now this seems to have sealed the deal! Thanks!

Hi all,

If you get the basic package it does come to £13.33/mth if you factor in the cashback. If you want a more comprehensive package you'llpay more. Virgin sneakily automatically set the selection to the higher TV package.

Quidco have added that there was a system error so you cashback amount should change to £120 in the next couple of days.

Thanks
