Food Processor - What you really use it for?

I have a Moulinex Food processer that I got when I got married. I only use it to make pastry and to grate cheese. I found that it chops carrots too thin for a stew. What does anyone else actually use it for? Any suggestions welcome. ( I use a mini chopper for onions & breadcrumbs - got it in Lidl a couple of yrs ago).

    Grating cheese, making breadcrumbs and since following a thread on here, grating onions for hm burgers.
    Are food processors a waste of time or what?

    Great for disposing of body parts once you get them cut down to size with a crocodile saw. The blades seem to wear out awful quick though, must be the bones.

    I use mine every day for blending baby food.

    I've not tried the body part idea, but thanks for the tip, you never know when it'll come in handy.

    I have a Moulinex one too & must admit it's spent most of its' life in a cupboard. the only thing that makes it worth the space it takes up is the Rosti (heavy duty extra coarse grater) plate* I sent away for, makes the nasty sticky job of grating par-boiled potatoes a breeze ... it's just too much hassle cleaning it after smaller jobs

    * raymond, you're giving me ideas for new uses for it :D

    Mine is moulinex too. I use it for baking, making breadcrumbs and grating cheese and carrots but that's about all really. I find my stick blender gets much more use than the food processor and its so much easier to clean.

    I use mine for;

    Making pastry
    Grating cheese, bread crumbs, veggies for soups/stews/sauces, onions for burgers (can't do that by hand without the eyes watering)
    Slicing veg

    The blender bit looks pretty in the cupboard.

    To me it's a life saver - I've got carpol tunnel syndrome in both wrists which gives me no grip, can't hold the cheese and grate it, can't make pastry by hand etc.

    I use mine to make chicken nuggets for the kids, just bung in the chicken, apple, onions, breadcrumbs(or rice cripsies), some herbs, whizz it all up, make into balls and cook - presto - and the kids love em!!!
