in Credit cards
charging me. I had an abbey mbna credit card and i wanted to shift it over to another 0% credit card . however they said they saw i also have a virgin account and what they could do is shift all of the debt outstanding on to my virgin credit card and they would therefore slightly increase the credit limit. this is something i did. however i am in the middle doing my accounts and rather than beign on 0% i see they are actually charging me interest now!!! shoudl i just go back and complain . anyone else had this issue? thanks in advance.

Have you come to the end of the time period for the 0% or have you made a late payment. Virgin frequently change their payment due date and unless you check on it every month it is quite easy to pay late, that would invalidate the 0% rate.0

The 0% offer is only for transfers from a non-MBNA card. If you transferred from your Abbey MBNA card to your Virgin MBNA card, they will charge you interest.
If you made this transfer based on a recommendation by the Virgin team, and they were aware that you were transferring from an Abbey MBNA card, it is worth complaining.0 -

Its not possible to do this. MBNA do not allow transfers between their own accounts. Even if a rep (or phone monkey) tried to do this, as in Little Britain, the computer would say "No"No Longer works for MBNA as of August 2010 - redundancy money will be nice though.

No experience personally, but it does sound as though something's been lost in translation.
As you know, your Abbey/MBNA and Virgin cards are both underwritten by the same bank, MBNA. This lender will sometimes switch the credit limit from an old, unused card, to give you a higher limit on the new, active one, but transferring a balance from one to t'other would be like paying them with their own money.
If I were you, I'd phone Virgin Card Services on 01244 673700 (to avoid the perishing 0870 numbers), if possible during normal buiness hoursPeople who don't know their rights, don't actually have those rights.0 -
is causing me constant stress . is there anything i can do when companies take advantage and dont tell you and then you have to start the whole complaint system. i am tired and stressed from all of this. there must be something as consumers we should be able to do .No experience personally, but it does sound as though something's been lost in translation.

Have they charged you a balance transfer fee. Is it the interest on the balance transfer fee. (Some people have been charged interest on fees but not everyone!)
Speak to Oscar52 he is an MBNA expert0 -
the interest amounts to £120 at least for the last 4 months - in addition to the balance transfer fee. well how can they say banks are goign bankrupt when they are making this much money!!!Have they charged you a balance transfer fee. Deals, apologies.
I am a little unsure - did they transfer your credit limit from one crad to another or the balance? No Longer works for MBNA as of August 2010 - redundancy money will be nice though.

Had another think on this Deals. Did you do a Transfer to your bank account in order to pay the Abbey card?? This could be the reason why. If there was a balance on the other card, this would still attract interest.
If there was no balance, its possible MBNA could have seen what you were trying to do and removed the 0% offer. No Longer works for MBNA as of August 2010 - redundancy money will be nice though.
