Faking depression

Options
A friend i know has a big idea to fake depression so he can get put onto anti depressants so then he can quit his job due to depression. No way do i agree with this but his cousins ahve told him what a silly idea it is but he doesnt listen as hes stubborn when he gets an idea in his head. My question is would the doctor put him on anti depressants straight away or would he have to do some test, would fking depression affect his chances of getting a job in the future ? the person is only 18 and he is bright so i dont know why he wants to do this, he has a job which i think is the reason why he wants to fake depression, the job is working for dominoes pizzas so it cant be that bad. Im asking as i dont know how the system works,

Tell him to grow up!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Just quit the job if he's not happy. At 18 I hardly think losing a dominos pizza job is going to be a life destroying move!

I think faking depression is abominable.

I agree with Olias. He's 18. Quit the job - don't try to take advantage of the system!
    Looking forward to the future.

It's extremely unlikely he will be able to pull the wool over the eyes of the medical professionals he encounters in his bid to fake depression.

WHy would he need to fake depression to quit the job... or is he trying to claim some sort of sickness pay?

I'm 21.......... wouldn't even dream of considering that! Sounds like he needs a good kick up the !!!!

I think it is disgusting what he is doing. Anyone who has been through this illness will tell you that it is not something to be laughed at and taking the tablets everyday and talking about your problems is very hard. If he does pull the wool over the doctors eyes he is a good actor. You don't just get diagnosed like you do with a cold. It took 3 or 4 years for a doctor to diagnose me. so if there is any justice in this world he will be working with domino pizzas for a long time.
