Kaupthing Edge interest rates when the accounts actually get transferred

I know that I probably should just be happy that some sense of security has been provided by ING Direct taking over Kaupthing Edge's accounts, but in the longer term, does anybody know what interest rate the standard "6.36% for accounts of £100+" that was offered with Kaupthing Edge will be adjusted to once the transition to ING Direct is complete?

It's all slightly humorous to me anyway - with me jumping ship from ING Direct to Kaupthing Edge to get a better rate of savings a few months ago, and now it looks like I'm back off to ING Direct all over again. Alas...

  • I try access my Kaupthing Edge account, and it says 'Your account has been disabled'. Has this been done to other account holders too?

Cheers for that, I'm still a bit edgy at the moment, no pun intended. I have some money in transit from KE to my current account at the moment too, so I'm praying that goes through ok.

I can still access my account fine - try phoning Kaupthing Edge to see what the problem is.

I saw that, but it doesn't actually acknowledge if the interest rate will change for the better or worse - it just says "we might keep it as competitive as we feel".
