Ok as per my post earlier we have to get aan action group going all of us moneysavers -i did chaps before 8am today and nothing despite promises.
if we all ger toghether and decide how the best way is to aproach this as one united group -I am sure this will help all of us.
I had to close easy savings of 10,555 to transfer by bacs the 1500 isa.
lets hope we can all get together and appoint a form of committe to steer us through thisa.
Is it possible to collate all threads to do with Iceasve into one? I am happy to join a group but the forum is awash with various threads to do with Icesave today and I would be happier with maybe Mods blocking other threads and just having one thread to talk about any concerns/issues?

I though JS was a bit unfair. At the end of the day Martin has clearly stated for as long as I can remember that Icesave was not a normal bank. In fact it was from this website that I learnt about the £35,000 limit, so thank you Martin for clear advice.
Now fingers crossed that we keep our ISA allowance....
Lessons I have learned are
1. Do not save with an internet bank its too easy to close you out.
2. When all around you are panicing, panic.
3. Never have more than the protected amount in any bank (I have £110K with icesave joint).
ok lets get this inot one sensible organised post for this action and we need Martin -it is not his fault at all - we all took the chance never thinking this would happen.

I think that an organised group action is far more likely to have an effect than a flood of individuals crashing any system. Also that there are far too many threads started here some of which are causing unecessary worry.
Both myself and my husband have ISAs with Icesave and although are not a huge amount of money it does represent the majority of our savings and have been following today's news.
I have managed as suggested helpfully on another thread to log in and print out satements despite managing to lock my login through forgetting my details. I was concerned that I wouldn't be able to get through to their customer service but found this number on saynoto0870 - 0191 255 8377 - in case it is of any use to anyone else in the same situation.
I too would be interested in joining any well organised group compaign.
My wife and I have ISAs with Icesave and ironically we went to Natwest to move them to a higher paying account on Friday 3rd October.
Yes I did the same thing on Thursday 2nd but they insisted on me making an appointment for an hour and there were no windows until Monday but then I looked at what RBS shares were doing and changed my mind. I certainly don't blame Martin but I do wish that we got better news pages on the internet. I would have got out a lot sooner had I realised that the airline XL had borrowed from the Icelandic banks and I really didn't realise how small the population was! My IPS home page is just full of c**p on reality tv etc. It's insulting really. I suppose eventually we all will be able to pick the feeds that we receive. Times Online would be top of my list.

I'm certainly in with the drilling up of interest in an action group. I stupidly put 170k in this 'bank' on a fixed rate and am looking at a minimum of 120k loss. This is on the basis that we are all instructed to save for our retirement and seek Mr Brown's swift action in reassuring us that all our money will be returned. We can only hope but I think we need Martin's help to add a lot of weight to our argument.
I am not panicking as yet! but it surely doesn't help with all the different threads. One designated thread for all to voice their concerns and any advice, is surely enough? The others sould be blocked as they are clogging up the forum and my brain!
