This is a bit of a problem and am hoping for some advice.
On 15th September I sent £290 of vouchers via Special Delivery. Buyer left positive feedback on 16th September and never heard another thing from her.
On Tuesday, a Paypal dispute was opened saying that they had not been received. I thought it must have been a mistake so emailed the buyer who got back to me and said ' I obviously didn't receive them as I have never signed for them. LOL!' She had put in the paypal dispute that although the RM site says delivered, she definitely has not had them and has not signed for them.
On the Track and Trace it says 'delivered' but that there is no signature available. I rang Royal Mail who checked and after a couple of days, said the same. I happened to ask if there was any way of double checking if it was delivered as I thought the buyer was trying it on, only to be told that if I put a claim into them for non-delivery, it could be classed as fraudulent on my part as I believe she has received them and is trying it on.
So I don't know what to do now. Will Paypal pay out to her as there is no signature, or will it be enough that it says delivered?
Thanks.

I have no idea how this works but have you supplied the tracking number to Paypal? If I remember rightly, they ask for this when a dispute is set up and you say you posted it.DMP Mutual Support Thread Member No 19017/05/08 - Total on DMP: £10025.7007/05/14 - Total on DMP: £1666.20 DFD: July 2017!!Baby Tomos born 5th June 2009 - 6lb 5oz :jWeight Loss Target - to lose 60.8lb by NYE 2015 - 37.6lb TO GO0

Also, I don't suppose it is fraudulant as you don't know she is trying it on, you only suspected but those suspisions could be wrong (unlikely I know, but they don't know that). Also, what did her feedback say, out of curiosity?DMP Mutual Support Thread Member No 19017/05/08 - Total on DMP: £10025.7007/05/14 - Total on DMP: £1666.20 DFD: July 2017!!Baby Tomos born 5th June 2009 - 6lb 5oz :jWeight Loss Target - to lose 60.8lb by NYE 2015 - 37.6lb TO GO0

Haven't done anything yet with the dispute as I was waiting to see what RM came back with but I will provide the tracking number. I was hoping that RM had got the signature and it was just not uploaded online, but unfortunately not.
I guess I will have to leave it in the hands of the Gods of Paypal :rolleyes:0

I would hope this would all work out in your favour, especially as she left feedback. Follow the Paypal procedures and let us know what happens. I think you have a valid reason for a complaint to royal mail here. You paid extra for signed delivery and yet they can't provide the signature. My OH bought something a while ago and it was sent as 'singed for' delivery, but the postie just shoved it through the letter box without knocking for the signature so we could easily have tried the 'i haven't received the item routine'!.
The buyer is definitely trying it on as indicated by her putting LOL at the end of her message!! don't give in, give the tracking number to paypal and let them sort it.doing what I do best...trying!!-- lainey :j

            okay 1st things 1st
at present RM dont use PDA's on delivery so the delivered on the track & trace and a signature are 2 seperate parts
so the cards are sent off from the delivery offices to be scanned and uploaded
loads of areas for problems and delays
eg a postie goes on holiday and doesnt send his/her final delivery card in
 boom delay on signature
have you tried contacting the delivery office that cover your buyers area?0

No I haven't tried contacting their local office. I'll do that on Monday, thank you.0

I don't think you've got a problem here? You used SD, which can be tracked online. RM's website shows the item has been signed for and delivered to the address. You can prove you sent it to the correct confirmed address (the one registered with paypal), as you still have the SD slip? Upload the tracking number to Paypal's website and let them handle it. I may be wrong, but I think it's enough to show that it has been sent to and delivered to the correct address. Track and Trace shows it has been signed for and you have the slip to show it was sent to the right address. RM will eventually have the signature back up, as SD is dealt with in a different way to recorded.
Your buyer is trying it on. It is entirely likely that she/he hasn't actually signed for the delivery, but a member of the household has. The buyer's logical is flawed. Just because that individual did not sign for the thing, doesn't mean it wasn't signed for by someone else living in the house. My partner signed for something I bought on ebay the other day. Do I open a dispute and claim I didn't get it because I didn't sign for it? No. I'd ask the buyer why positive feedback was left if she/he didn't get the item. Is she claiming her account was hacked? Doesn't seem that way to me. So, either she got it and is just trying it on because she personally didn't sign for it (but someone else, like her hubby did). Or is she saying that she never ordered the thing and that her account was hacked (doesn't seem right either, as she hasn't said that in her paypal dispute - if that's the case, the ebay positive feedback doesn't add up).In a rut? Can't get out? Don't know why?
It's time to make that change.

The new rules on paypal claims require a signature online for items over £150 and you might want to check what dates those rules apply and what they actually say.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.
