Reply to my email regarding tesco and internet coupons --

Dear Natasha, Thank you for your email.

I have detailed below some information on the acceptance of coupons in our stores which I hope will help you.

All Tesco specific coupons display the Tesco logo. We'll only accept these at the till if you buy the product shown on the coupon at the time.

We're happy to accept a non-Tesco product coupon even if you don't buy the item. But, the coupon must be in date and Tesco must sell the product. If you present more than one identical coupon you need to purchase the same number of products. This also includes coupons printed from the Internet, but these will only be accepted at the discretion of the Store Manager.

I hope this has helped to explain things for you.

Thank you for taking the time to contact us.

If you have any further queries please do not hesitate to contact us at customer.service@tesco.co.uk quoting TES5420135X.

Kind Regards

Wayne Hansen

I had major problems using a voucher at asda today and I actually purchased the item in question!
Pedigree better by nature dog food, I tried to use coupons issued at the pedigree site, a supervisor tried telling me that they wont accept internet coupons because they dont get paid for it from the manufacturer.
Then another supervisor was called who said the first was wrong and they do accept the coupons. then the second coupon wouldnt scan and i was accused of photocopying it because it had the same bar code, they were printed from 2 different pcs on totally different internet connections, I also have an expired coupon that I couldnt use because the food was new out at the time and the coupon expired before the stores had stock of it in, since being home i have found that coupon and the barcode no on that one is also the same as the ones I tried to use today, although the coupon itself has changed a bit since that was printed in may but the fact is the bar code is the same.
Its very humiliating to have a big que of people behind you at the checkout when you get problems like this!
I am now writing a letter of complaint to asda HO

Im not up on Asdas policy, but from what I understand from your post, you used two coupons for the same thing, and with the same barcode which means you were trying to use duplicate coupons which is a big no no in tesco. Its not a good idea to try and use two coupons for the same product even if they look different especially if the barcodes are the same

I am real trouble getting a sensible answer from tesco ( by email) about their coupon policy when you do not buy the item. I have been emailing for 3 weeks and am no further forward.
If anyone has a clear email reply from them and would be happy to email it to me, please can you pm me.

    Thank you very much

Earlier today I headed off to Tesco armed with my £5 voucher from NOW and a pile of MOCs printed from here. I have used MOCs regularly when purchasing the item but this was my first visit using MOCs when I had not purchased the items.

I carefully chose the youngest, most bored looking SA she happily scanned all my shopping then I pulled the envelope full of MOCs out of my bag she had a strange look on her face! Thought I may have a problem with her accepting them but how wrong was I! I gave her my NOW voucher first then a pile of others, didn't want to push my luck too much so didn't give her all the MOCs that I had. Gave her £7 worth of MOCs mainly for things that I hadn't bought she happily scanned the lot and never said a word! A number of them were internet coupons so was waiting for her to say something but nothing!

Will be keeping an eye out for her again

Hi Is that the one by the racecourse? I use that one every Sunday after the carboot. I have never used coupons there yet except for the Tesco £5 ones. Woo hoo here I come. Thanks you lot
