I just noticed on the Egg website (bottom left) a link giving information on a good deal:-
All you need to do is open a US Dollar or Euro Current Account with Citi before 15 October 2008 and spend at least 100 US Dollars or 65 Euros by 31 December 2008 from your new account to qualify.
This is only for Egg customers.
Offer exclusive to Egg customers. UK residents only.
Spend criteria includes both cash withdrawals and purchases from the account.
Which is quite good as you can just withdraw the free cash if you are in USA/Euroland before the deadline.
Disclaimer, I do currently indirectly work for Citibank, but I am just posting this as an MSer.
Cheers, Des.

Just thought of a minus point, you will need to lodge the amount first before you can withdraw it, as it is a rebate.
There are also no details on when/how this rebate is paid.

The € current account is free of charge and there is no minimum balance requirement.
Is there a charge for transferring money from a Citibank £ account to a Citibank € account?
Do they provide BIC + IBAN so international € transfers can be made straight to the € account?Dagobert0 -

I believe there are no direct charges BUT they charge indirectly in the fx conversion price.

Just got my chequebooks through for my Citibank US$ Current Account today.
It'll be useful as I'll be spending 3 months travelling around the states next summer. But that's past the deadline for this offer. What can I do to claim it? I have an auntie who lives in America, I thought maybe I could get her to pay for something, then get the money back off her. Any better ideas?
Also, there was no mention of the offer in any documentation from Citibank.0 -
Could you buy online from US or Eurozone and pay in the local currency to take advantage of this? Pay into Paypal? Pay into Neteller then withdraw?

Dollar account is worth £4 more approx. (on the $100 rebate) at the moment due to the exchange rate (though only works if you can spend in $!). As the incentive will be paid for spend or withdrawal (in that currency), then it appears that this could be an opportunity? Anyone gone for this? Could be a relatively easy £50 approx.
