Hello every one, can you please help?
I have recently locked myself out of my house. What a dummy I felt having to ring and wait for the lock smith. I must admit they got me in at great expense.
This got me thinking, there must be a better way?
Please can anyone suggest what to do?

Hello,
I answered a question like this the other day
I use something called a Shurlok which I actually attach to my motorbike and keep the bike key in also. Its like a big padlock with a combination and a keystorage chamber. have a look at https://www.hideakey.co.uk
Cheers

You could try a keysafe (a quick search on google will turn up lots!)
These are used by carers for elderly folk. They are attached to the wall and normally accessed by a combination.

my grandparents had a key buried in a strategic area of the agrden in a pill box.... even if someone knew it was buried in the garden, they'd have a hard time getting at it!0

Folks, do be careful with this - - - how many of the determined crooks do you think do not look for one these? You can as well put up a big sign saying "Here's Where I Hide My Key"0

they sound a bit too dangerous pink winged. How often do you check your keys are still in it? with it having a black cover on it somebody could open the cover, smash open the keysafe and steal your key. As long as they can get the black cover back on you'll never know it's missing..
I've attached a barrell to my keys that contains a note with my full address, mobile number and work details, including the times i work. That way if my keys are found they won't have a wasted journey to my house if i'm not in0
