Annoying calls from 08004082680

Anyone else getting these.

Not much info on them on google...just someone else saying they have had a call and it sounds as if it is redirecting and not to stay on the line.

I have just had silent calls from them ..6 in the last couple of days.

They are peeing me off now...any ideas who they are?

  • Answer it then blow a whistle down the phone. They will NEVER call you again. At one point homecall were calling me daily until I invested in a 99p whistle.

    "Silent Calls

If you have been troubled by calls where the phone rings but on answering there is no one there, you can register with a separate service called Silent Callgard.

Silent calls are generated by automatic dialling equipment which dial more numbers than there are operators available to take the calls.

Silent Callgard is a free service, however it may not prevent the receipt of all silent calls as it is a voluntary scheme.

The number to call to register for Silent Callgard is 0844 372 2325.

This service is not managed by the TPS."

saynoto0870.co.uk lists 0800 0831138 as an alternate number for silent callguard - you have to register every 12 months.
and you can register your number online here

  • Think I might have some info for this topic.

I have recently been receiving a lot of calls from the freefone number 0800 408 2680. Pick up the phone and it goes dead. Extremely irritating!

Anyway, after doing a bit of google research, it appears to be a Sunderland based company called 2Touch.
Address is Camberwell Way, Doxford Technology Park, Sunderland SR9 9XZ and website address is www.2touch.co.uk.

They describe themselves as a 'Customer Lifestyle Management Company'- whatever one of those is.

I called their number, 0191 525 7000 and asked the lady who answered if they own the number 0800 408 2680 as I keep receiving unwanted calls from them.
She admitted that it was their number and that my number would be removed from their list.

We'll see what happens - but at least I think I tracked them down.
If they still persist, I will have to think of a plan to stop them pestering me even further!
    Hope this info helps. Cheers.
  • I've been getting calls from this number quite a bit recently but haven't got to the phone in time... yes it is probably this 2Touch company. Guess who's behind it?

    Setanta Sports!

The postcode should be very familiar to those of us who've tried to cancel Sh!tanta Sports recently.

I answered it today. Pause, no reply. Then it rang once and a North-Eastern accent said "Hi, This is just a courtesy call from Setanta Sports to check the payment on your account..." And I hung up because I've already cancelled my account.

  • I had a missed call from them earlier today, and they just rang again now. Like the other posters have said, the caller had a north east accent. And he claimed to be a courtesy caller from BT! He was offering me some kind of TV package which was only available to Broadband customers. I am a BT broadband customer, so either it is genuinely BT or just a co-incidence! Hmmmm....
  • Have had this and they stopped as soon as I told them to %^&* themselves. Yes I am ashamed to say that although I felt sorry for the person cold calling me....it had to be done, and it worked. And I don't swear!!

  • I get these regularly. Spoke to them ages ago in error and they would not give their company name. The next thing I knew BT phoned me to ask why I did not want to use them anymore! I had not agreed to anything, nor did this number say they were selling anything. I told the guy on the phone straight away I am not buying anything so you are wasting your time and he started swearing at me so I put the phone down and then they tried to switch my phone user. I have reported them to OFCOM as then something will be done. Just received a further 6 calls from them in the last hour.
