I suppose they probably have a trigger level and wait until a certain number of customers leave before they even think about offering better deals. You would think that as there are no shareholders to answer to the BS’s would have the best deals going

Looks like a great deal, anyone know if they lend on shared ownership properties?

They don't to Shared ownership, right to buy, buy to let etc etc

    Hi Allan

Yes, we are on electoral role and have lived in this house for 6 years. Will probably give them a quick call tomorrow to discuss and see if they can do the checks on line.

    Thanks for the reply.

You're best off giving them a ring to confirm which documents they require. If they've requested ID docs from you it's because they've been unable to verify your ID electronically.

I just wanted to add that my remortgage went very smoothly with ING and is now complete in well under a month.

My only criticism is that I've borrowed about £100 more than necessary and they have sent me a cheque for this instead of crediting it to my bank account (they said it would be sent directly to my bank account). Maybe that’s got something to do with the current BACS problems but it’s going to be a pain as I’ll have to try and get to the bank at some point to pay it in.

It would have completed in two weeks if I had not asked them to delay to allow time for a direct debit to complete with my previous mortgage provider.

Can you clarify whether you have to pay legal fees? Their website explicitly states that there are no application or redemption fees, and that the valuation fee is refunded on completion, but is silent on the subject of legal fees as far as I can see. But then again, the information pack which you can download DOES state that legal fees are free too.

I did not pay any fees at all.

My remortgage to ING went extremely smoothly too, in under a month. And no, there were absolutely no fees or payments of any kind to make (only the exit fee from my current lender). No upfront charges was one of the reasons I decided to go with ING...

They do everything but I still spoke to my existing lender to request a redemption statement (for my own information).
