My T In the park tickets.....

We dont do the camping thing. Its handy enough to drive back to the central belt so we just head home to our nice bed lol! Staying with friends in Glenrothes this year tho. If you want some peeps to hang about with feel free to PM me and we can meet up.
Emma
Ha ha, I'm so glad you said this as I had thought about just coming home at night but didn't want to be an old stick-in-the-mud fuddy duddy! The option of a 25 mile drive home to a comfy bed, hot shower and clean toilet compared to 3 sleepless nights in a mud-bath...Do you know if there is any problem leaving the site on a camping ticket? Day pass-outs aren't available so I wasn't sure whether the camping tickets allowed you to come and go. And would I have to pay for the car-park 3 times? I'm not good with lack of sleep which is why I'm happy to come home (could wear ear-plugs I suppose but then I wouldn't feel safe in a tent by myself unable to hear what was going on).
If I hadn't seen such riches, I could live with being poor...0 -
My son and his mates are going to t in the park for the first time. He's only 18 (I know, I know - he's an adult) and I'm worried sick.
It'll all go to his head and he'll get too drunk and fall into a coma/someone will steal his sleeping bag and he'll die of hypothermia during the night because he's too drunk to feel the cold/he'll get beat up by some crazed druggie/ someone will slip something into his drink and he'll have a bad reaction and die. etc etc. You get the idea?
He's bought a disposable tent and he thinks he's going to take a thin blanket and that'll do. I'm off to Argos today to buy a cheapo sleeping bag and he's using it whether he likes it or not.
If anyone sees an 18 year old in trouble....please go help them, It might be my son. :undecided In fact, if I circulate a description and put up a pic, will you all mind him for me? :rotfl:
Hope you all enjoy yourselves.
I know it's hard not to worry, but I just wanted to say that the chances of having anything slipped into his drink are much lower than in a pub/club as he'll be standing in a field with his glass in his hand and not really able to leave it unattended. Yeah he might drink too much but the worst that will happen is that he misses the bands he wants to see and wakes up with a sore head. His pals are with him, they'll look out for each other and he'll have a whale of a time. :T
Also, it definitely won't be cold enough at night to get hypothermia (forecast minimum temperatures are for between 7 and 11 degrees). If I hadn't seen such riches, I could live with being poor...0 -
Im pretty sure a friend of mine a few years ago had camping tickets but didnt camp. I think he just left every night but he had to go in and out by the camping entrance. Campers are allowed to leave the arena and go to the campsite as much as you like but Im really not 100% that you can get out of the campsite and back again. I just found a contact us section on their site so ive emailed them to ask for you and hopefully they respond pronto!
Oh and yeah you will need to pay to park each day. It sucks that you cant buy weekend parking tickets!

OMG, that's so kind of you to do that! I checked through the info on the website but never thought to contact them. There must be other people who for whatever reason decide not to camp at the end of the day so I don't see why it should be a problem. The carpark fees suck big time - £12 tomorrow (cos they presume folk will be there for 3 days I guess) and £8 for each of the other 2 days. :eek:If I hadn't seen such riches, I could live with being poor...0 -
Not heard back yet. Will let you know if and when I do. I really dont think it would be a problem though

Aaargh, just had a dreadful night's sleep cos I'm worried sick that I still have a spare ticket with less than 10 hours to go...
Add to that a dodgy curry last night, losing my cash card and not hearing from my ex for 2 weeks when he's supposed to be taking the kids this afternoon...maybe I should just admit defeat! Oh, and it's raining. If I hadn't seen such riches, I could live with being poor...0 -
You could take it with you and sell it to the touts. You wouldnt get much back for it though but better than nothing. How come you have a spare one anyways? Was someone meant to be going with you?
oh and *hugs* for everything else!

Ha ha, because I have this odd optimistic streak that thought 4 months ago there was a chance I might not be single when it came around!
I went into work before 8 this morning (I'm on leave this week) to put another advert on the intranet and have had 2 enquiries from that so far, so fingers crossed! If I hadn't seen such riches, I could live with being poor...0 -
onenon-blonde - if you go to forums at www.efestivals.com - you might find that if you join and post a message offering them for sale at face value, you may well find someone to collect the ticket from you today.
Regarding the camping tickets and access to the site -
I bought camping tickets last year and camped the first night but OH hated it.
We packed up Sunday am and left the camping area to return to car and tried to get back into the main arena via the main gates. Staff would not allow camping ticket access via main gates which meant we had to walk the considerable distance back to the camp site to gain entry there.
Once into the campsite we had to walk to the campers access to the main arena (another long hike) where we gained entry no problem.
It is completely OK to leave and return as many times as you wish if you have a camping ticket - just take into account the long walks involved so you don't miss bands you want to see.0 -

Brilliant, have registered and replied to someone looking for a ticket. had forgotten about Scarletmist as well.
Thanks for the input re camping but not camping, I had been told it was a bit of a hike from the Arena to the car park but will hopefully only need done at the start and end of each day... by the time I get into the car maybe the worst of the traffic will have cleared! If I hadn't seen such riches, I could live with being poor...0
