    Just to add.
I changed my avatar to my badger family, who come under my kitchen window every night for scraps, as FF kept making 'cat' jokes.....we'll see what happens with the badger avatar.........

Some of us will have a harder time than now, but, on the whole, I can't see everyone starving to death.

Look at Iceland and how they are coping. You could take a holiday over there and see it for real.

Do you mean this forum? I think that when it's closed due to abuse we'll all just spill over in to the House Price and Discussion Time forums. I see myself as more a DT man if I'm honest.

But to answer the original post, I think the recession has given me a certain cynical, untrusting and uncertain outlook which I certainly didn't have before.
On second thoughts, maybe it's this forum that has done that to me?

This forum can be very informative but, sometimes, overly negative and Hamish's positive posts don't really balance it out.

The big stuff that we can do nothing about, but I now believe, it is important to be more aware of what 'they' are all up to, but, day to day life, I sometimes read stuff on here, go out and think !!!!!!? .
It's like a different world albeit micro one.

    HPC is worse for doom.
I daren't post on there in case I am ridiculed for being self employed in UK manufacturing in the most deflationary sector there is (after plasma tellys)....and write something positive...like ''sales aren't bad, neither are margins'....I'd be crucified or accused of being an EA in disguise.

Whilst the economy on a macro level is coming out from recession. Whether personally we have been effected is far too early too say. Ask me the same question in 5 years time.

But "they" are the "we". Just like pyramid selling, or spreading an infectious disease. If all of us learnt just one fact on here and imparted it to 2 other people. Then maybe people in general would be better informed and educated. Markets such as property are driven by the masses not the few.

Whilst the macro world may seem like clouds in the sky. At least gaining a basic understanding helps one plan for life in the micro world.

Where to I have to move to, so I see no signs of the recession?

See it happening on multiple levels, all around me. My landlord (struggling financially), my tenants (self employed plasterer, not as much work around as a few years ago), place of work (massive job cuts globally).

Maybe the above is unique to me, but I seriously doubt it.
