Maybe it's an option for "brand new customers only"?! - couldn't resist.0

Maybe if you do all your banking with them, it might be okay, but in this day and age, your online banking systems should work flawlessly together, but Nationwide seem to be dragging their heals.
If you can place MBNA's online banking above Nationwides in terms of usability you've got to be kidding. MBNA's is like seeing something knocked up by some schoolkids on a computing GCSE coursework. Never truly convinced of the security either, needs the least verification of any banking online I've ever seen.0 -

About security: credit cards companies generally have weaker online security than banks with full range of accounts. This is understandable. Most of credit cards with online access ask only username and passoword - the same as MBNA: Amex, Accucard, Marbles, Barclaycard, ...0 -

Well, what do you know, I can finally access my CC transactions online. I'm over the moon!!!
Now I can see the service in all it's glory.
Very, very basic. Now before I go into a rant again, I want to make it clear that I am criticising the CC service ONLY. I do no other banking with NW, so comments about how good you feel their other services are do not apply here.
WHY ARE THE ORIGINAL CURRENCY AMOUNTS, AND THE CURRENCY CONVERSION RATE NOT ON THE RECENT TRANSACTION REPORT???
As a bank, if someone makes charges to a customer's account, then as much information as possible should be displayed about that charge. What bright spark thought it would be a good idea to leave the original currency amount, and the conversion rate out of the reporting???
From a previous post, it seems discussions are being had about bringing this info back to the reports, which also suggests it used to be there previously.
So obviously someone at NW physically thought - "I know, I will leave this info out just for the hell of it, wait for loads of people to complain, and then put it back again". It's this logic that really grips me. It's the same as, "I know there are people who can't see their CC transactions online, but I will wait 2 weeks before I bother to fix it".
THERE IS NOT AN OPTION TO PAY THE BALANCE BY DEBIT CARD
As posted by me earlier, and by someone else, this basic facility is still absent. There is also no mention about the proceedure for paying the CC balance straight from your current account at another bank. Why isn't this info there?
Now couple the above with no online facility for requesting a new pin, new card, new credit limit (all of which is available at Barclaycard), then YES, Nationwide's online service is the WORST for credits cards.
Oh, but hang on! I have just found out under the 'Other Services' menu, that I can 'Activate my WAP phone' ??? Unbelievable! I can't pay my balance with my debit card, but it's okay, at least I know I can activate my WAP phone!!!
Someone mentioned MBNA being worse than NW.
Well I'm now looking at the MBNA screen and I can:
1. Pay my CC balance with debit card
2. I can see an easy to read transaction page, set out exactly like you would write out your own accounts in a book. Not the silly way it's presented at NW.
3. I can request credit limit increases online.
4. I can request pin reminders
5. I can order replacement cards.
6. I can setup a direct debit
The list goes on. So yes, MBNA's service is far better than Nationwide's for credit cards. The fact that the interface isn't to your fancy shouldn't be a factor, it's the level of service supplied that's important to me.
So, once the currency conversion info is added to the reports, with the money I am saving on currency exchanging, I will be a reasonably happy banker. We will see.0 -
Tried to dowload my pdf statement today. Got an error saying: "There was an error opening this document. The file is damaged and could not be repaired". Anyone else experiencing this?
NW used to do a first screen recent transactions page, this has now gone for a "snapshot", not liking it.
Re the currency thing, already raised it before, so agree with you on that."An eye for an eye leaves the whole world blind" - Mahatma Gandhi0 -

Re the currency thing, already raised it before, so agree with you on that. You can download your statement using the 'download' button at the top of the screen.
When you select 'download', you can open the file as a text file in Notepad or in a spreadsheet package if you have one on your PC. Alternatively, you can save the file in a folder of your choice as a .csv file (comma separated value) which you can open from the folder you have saved it into.
If the download button does not work, it may be because the browser is already being used for another task or because the browser settings do not allow the download. You will not be able to download your statement in all browsers. The following information about different browsers and amending the browser settings may help.
Netscape - the download function should work in Netscape.
Internet Explorer (IE) 4 - the download button does not work in IE below version 5.
Internet Explorer (IE) 5, 5.5 and 6 - to enable the Download button to work, it is necessary to change the browser settings as follows:
1. From the Tools menu select Internet Options.
2. Select the Advanced tab, and scroll down to the Security settings.
3. Select the "Do not save encrypted pages to disk" option so that it is enabled (ticked).
4. Click OK.
Warning - When you download your statement details a file will be saved to disk on the computer you are using. This is normally the computer's hard disk, but can be a disk of your choice. The file contains personal details relating to your account. To ensure that the information is not viewed by anyone else, we strongly recommend that the download button is used only on your own computer, and not one shared with other users.
Good luck.....under construction.... COVID is a [discontinued] scam0
