Just Incredible: The box' was showing a red light so power was entering it but it wouldn't turn green, yes correct.

Were you using the remote to try and switch it on? If yes, it could just be the remote or it's batteries. Try pushing the power button on the box itself.

Sounds like Sky sent a power surge down your line to blow the box.

They often do this when people stop subscribing...

I cancelled as well and it was cut over the weekend, stupidly I still expected to see anything which we had recorded on sky+ (Live and learn)
I was amazed at the few channels I could actually receive!

Good luck op with your box

So SKY control the electricity network aswell.

Also, lets not forget the viewing cards are all being changed aswell, so if you still have your old card, then Freeview will not work very soon either.

The card only provides a few channels, e.g. FIVE, FIVER, FIVEUS and Sky 3. FIVE can be added in manually anyway.

Old boxes will work just fine without a card.

Absolute rubbish. Terrestrial Freeview requires a Freeview receiver and NO card.

    If you say so..........
If you knew anything about how the signal is received and sent you would know that your abusive response is that of an idiot!

I think the point being made is that 'Freeview' is a terrestrial digital signal received through a roof arial. FreeSatfromSky is through the dish and requires a card for encripted channels. Terminology although i'm sure most knew what you meant.

We cancelled with Sky last week under the cooling off period on taking the subscription out. They basically lied to us to sell us the package so we told them to shove it.

They told us it would take upto 21 days to disconnect us and we would have to pay up until then but on Sunday they had taken the channels off and we could only receive the free ones. Seems like there's a lot of people canceling at the moment
If At First You Don't Succeed, Call It Version 1.0 :D
