Lol, yes, the 1kg bar of cadbury's chocolate! I'd forgotten about that. DS asks for that every year!
DS is also getting an electric blanket this year, which he doesn't know about. So again, a themed pressie is a possibility with the blanket plus goodies for a lie in.:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.0 -

The electric blanket is a fantastic idea, he really enjoys his lazy mornings and he would love the cosiness of this. Thank you.0 -

My ds asked for a laptop last christmas. I told him he had no chance. But I gave him money towards it and told him to get a paper round. Personally I would go with giving him money and if anyone else asks tell them money.
Teenage boys do like the gadgets. And if I can't afford what they want I just give them the money I can afford.
ds got paid for his work experience this year and got himself a very good laptop off e bay for £200. This year he wants a digital camera, which I bought in July in the sales. So sorted.Anyone who lives within their means suffers from a lack of imagination:beer:

Maybe sit down with him and explain how things have been affected by the economic climate and clarify how much you can afford and maybe a joint internet search as to what is out there and what he might like and let him choose it and you could wrap as before... and then spare £5 or so to do him a stocking as a surprise?0
