Thanks guys he really went down hill on Sunday, I always wondered when was the best time to have him put down, in the end he went on his own accord. He was such a lovely pet, even in his last hours he still get up and go to his litter tray, abet it he missed but he did try.

There will be a big void in my life he was such a great companion, he didn't like strangers being slightly feral but he has such quaint qualities and was very smart.

I am just glad we were there for him and part of his short life

    A great friend

Hello - a few things that may help. It hurts like hell. He never knew a day of want with you, only kindness. You gave him the best life, and he was at home when it happend. Cats go downhill very quickly at the end. Nothing will stop it hurting, time takes care of that. Please please give some thought to taking on another little chap who would need a loving home. Nothing will replace Poppy but so many have a hard life, and you have so much to give.
    Love

Thanks I have decided to get him cremated

We have thought about getting another cat from perhaps a one that is abandoned.

It wont obviously be a replacement but we do have a fondness from cats, this was our first one.

I have to wait for kids to get up so that they can say there goodbyes before we go to the vets

We packed him in a cardboard box marked we will miss you and love you along with his blanket

I will miss my dear friend

Another cat will help you and the kids although it won't replace him, it will help them through this difficult time.
