Me too I usually end up going "blah blah blah go to sleep u little swine" :p

and I refuse to sing anything other than black sheep- Sheep and therefore their wool comes in 2 colours black or white fact! in the old days black wool was rarer and more expensive hence the song if you are offended by it then you have a very small mind and need to get a life IMHO

Baa Baa black sheep.....the black sheep comes from the Plague, where people who died in the Plague were wrapped with black wool as opposed to white wool. (The master, dame and little boy all died of the plague).

That's what I was told anyway and it makes sense of the words to me lol!

EDIT : oh no, looks like I was told wrong lol! http://nurseryrhymes.allinfoabout.com/origin-of-the-nursery-rhyme-baa-baa-black-sheep

Traveller in the dark?

There are stars, it's gonna be dark!

I don't get it

Never before in my life have I heard those last 2 verses  and I agree someone traveling at night would be "in the dark"

Yeah I know, I don't get it either. I mean there are two colours of sheep, black and white.... It is just the height of stupidity really!

Oh and remember that when ordering a coffee you MUST not say 'black' or 'white', it is 'without milk' or 'with milk'.

Tara, tell him it is for the good of the children to have continuety in their lives and know that their teacher (?) has not chosen to leave them, she is sick. Then have some parents go up and smash his/her head. DS1's teacher visited regulary when she was signed off sick and during her maternity leave.

• I don't why you can't sing twinkle little start but my friends little one get rather annoyed when we sing it. He sings:

Twinkle, twinkle traffic light,
Round the corner shining bright.
Red means stop,
Green means go,
Yellow means very, very slow.
Twinkle, twinkle traffic light,
Round the corner shining bright.

• Don't forget you can't sing ba ba black sheep or twinkle twinkle little star :(

I still do!

Shellsuit - I had to go googling :o
and found that the web says we are both wrong :rotfl:
for anyone else as sad as me
its about taxes - http://yourehistory.wordpress.com/2007/05/26/fiber-folklore-baa-baa-black-sheep/
http://childrens-verse.suite101.com/article.cfm/the_story_of_baa_baa_black_sheep
its just an educational song - http://www.famousquotes.me.uk/nursery_rhymes/baa_baa_black_sheep.htm

I like this version
Dutch version

The Dutch version of this common nursery rhyme goes:
Schaapje, schaapje, heb je witte wol?Ja baas, ja baas, drie zakken vol.E!n voor de meester en !!n voor zijn vrouw.E!n voor het kindje, dat bibbert van de kou.
The English translation would be:
Little sheep, little sheep, do you have white wool?Yes boss, Yes boss, three bags full. One for the master, one for his wife. One for the little child, that shivers from the cold.
