I might have made some progress
I just managed to speak to my DH before he went to work. I asked if he'd mind me coming to meet you guys. He (quite rightly I suppose) said he wouldnt be happy for me to come on my own. He would worry that our DD might think it's OK to meet up with people she talks to on the internet.
Soooo, I asked if he would come with me, and we could take the kids through the illuminations before we came home. Amazingly, he didn't flatly refuse (we're both really shy) but said he would need to check the car over first.
Not quite a definite yes yet, but I AM trying my best

Is anybody going from the Glossop or Ashton-Under-Lyne area, i'm thinking car share if i come, i'm not 100% if i'll come in the car of the works van though, you cant be advertising
I'll let you know if i'd def coming about five days before, ie, bbc weather five day outlook why do we do it,
