Me too - it all seems to come at once but you seem to have a level head - just take care of your family and you will come through OK.

    Take care, MrWibble :-)
  • Hi Emily, you have had a very hard time lately and you are in my thoughts. Don't beat yourself up about the debt, you have been doing extremely well and should be proud of yourself.

    Keep strong.

    Hello everyone

I am so glad to see the back of February, I can safely say that it was the worst month of my life!!

I woke up this morning feeling a bit more positive about things. Afterall, it is March and the summer is on it's way, it is my 25th birthday next month and my boyfriend has promised to take me away somewhere so I can get a break. My dad's funeral is on Monday next week and Joshua's is on Tuesday. They are going to put my dad's ashes into Joshua's coffin so that they will be together. I know that my dad will take care of my darling nephew and that gives me a little comfort. Hopefully I will go back to work on Thursday next week which will help me get back to some sort of normality. My work have been very kind and have given me well over 2 weeks of compassionate leave on full pay.

Anyway, on the debt front, my car is nearly ready to go, I have got the service done, got 2 new tyres and paid out for 6 months tax for it. My new car will be ready at the end of this month (hopefully) so I am hoping to sell my car within the next few weeks. As soon as this is done, my car loan and my Alliance & Leicester loan will be cleared.

I am also going through a stage in my life where material things just don't seem very important anymore. I think this must be due to the terrible time I've had recently. I have therefore been listing on Ebay and Amazon like there's no tomorrow. I made over £250 last weekend from it and have listed a load more things that finish this weekend too. I am chucking this at my Capital One credit card which is getting on my nerves now, there is about £1,000 on it so hopefully I can clear this by the end of the month.

Anyway, just wanted to post to say how I was getting on and to encourage other people to keep going, we will all be debt free one day and I can't wait!!

    Best wishes

    Good morning everyone

I just wanted to post a quick update. My dad's and Joshua's funerals are now over thank goodness. Joshua's funeral was just so sad, so many people came and there was not a dry eye in the place. My dad's was sad too, but at least they are now both at peace and are resting together.

I am back at work tomorrow so can hopefully get back to normal (what is normal??). I am going to list my car for next weeks Autotrader so hopefully it will sell quite quickly. A lady around the corner from me has expressed an interest in buying it but she hasn't come round again yet, I don't know if she was put off by the fact that I've had 2 funerals this week though.

I'm still listing stuff on Ebay, will hopefully be able to clear another card soon. Will post again soon.

    Take care everyone.

I'm thinking of you. I'm so glad you posted an update - I've been wondering how you are. I hope you get on okay tomorrow back at work but please don't go back too soon.

    Hope you got my parcel?
