Leg wax soaked into my towel help!

Hello again,

In preparation for my forthcoming holiday, I was waxing my legs yesterday and managed to kick over the tub of hot wax and it went all over the towel, a big patch.

I have tried ironing the towel in between kitchen roll and newspaper to get off the excess, and it has been soaking in hot water and washing powder in a bucket, but I think the towel is ruined and I don't have many towels.

Suggestions? Don't think vinegar can fix this one...?!

Did u make sure the iron wasnt on too hot? Try using brown paper, as some one on here suggested when i spilt wax all over a new skirt! it worked wonders!!

If all else fails, stick it in the freezer and hopefully you'll be able to pick off all the wax.

Try drying towel off and putting in freezer. Then pick hard wax off.
or washing up liquid is supposed to remove grease try putting neat wul on towel and leaving for a while before soaking or washing again.

I don't think I will be able to pick it off as it has soaked in quite a lot.

Will have to try the washing up liquid though...

I've always found brown paper to absorb more then newspaper, and it will take time if you have spilt a lot. Try alternating between freezing it and ironing it. If you have rags you can also use those to iron the was into.

    Good luck

Leg wax is usually water soluble so I would soak it in hot water (not in the washing machine)

Wasn't there a recent mention of baby oil for this? It's the recommended way to remove excess wax from your legs (on the instructons?). Or was it for something else?

Is it Immac/Veet warm wax? If so, that is sugar based so it should just soak off in warm water, then wash as normal. :)

Baby oil gets it off my legs but then it hasn't absorbed into them so I don't know...

Sadly it is not water soluble. Trust me, when it is finished I am going back to Body Shop sugaring solution which is!

    Thanks all.
  • A few goes through the washer might do it - I am always dropping wax on towels (although not a whole pot!) and it disappears in the washer.
