Help for cloudy wine glasses!

Best wine glasses have gone all dish-washer cloudy, (cheapo's free from petrol station still twinkling >:(), does anyone know if there is there a way of restoring them to their former pristine glory or is it a lost cause?

hot water and vinegar always brings mine up nice, just leave them to soak in it. ;D

What proportion of vinegar to water would you use?

five tablespoons vinegar to half a bowl hot water (just enough to cover them)
