I have been inspired by all your great ideas and decided to make hampers for my mum and dad this year.
They are both from Leeds so for my dad I am making him a Yorkshire basket filled with two nice new mugs, some yorkshire tea bags, Yorkshire tea loaf and biscuits and I want to find a book on the history of Leeds Utd.
For my mum I am making an Italian basket with some pasta bowls, nice olive oil, fancy pasta, two jars of nice pasta sauce and wine.
Have no idea how to put photos on here but I know they will love them.0 -
The only thing I would suggest if you haven't made them before is to watch what you are getting and don't go overboard or get carried away like I have
I thought some of the ones on the thread last year were brilliant and decided to make toiletry ones for my three nieces (17, 19 and 21) and they were absolutely delighted with them.
I was quite chuffed with how well they went down that I decided I was definately going to do the same again this year for them and my female friends. I hadn't meant to but seem some great bargains that were loely and reduced to rediculous amounts in Boots' January Sale. Also, thanks to Boots, they had loads of "glitches" throughout the year, whereby I got loads of bargans for very little money and kept thinkging "they will do for my hampers". The drawers under my bed became so jam packed, that I started putting stuff in boxes in the loft and never quite realised how much I actually had until the other week.
It is my son's friend's 18th birthday next week and I wondered if I had any spare stuff in my stash to make her a wee hamper up. I went through it saying, one for Lynsey, one for Kirsty, one for Gillian, this one is for Anne, this one is for Diane, this one is spare, etc, etc. You get the idea?
Well, this is what I managed to make up with my "spares". God only knows how I am going to wrap my "real" ones - will I get baskets big enough? I think I'll need to make some more "spares" for myself and some charity functions I'm going to.
Anyway, I hope Emma will like it!!
I only thought to take the photo after it was all wrapped up so you can't actually see what is in it.

Anic - Your hamper look very much like my hampers!! I love Boots, lol!!!
I've got about three black bags worth of various toiletries and make-up from the latest Boots sale, and it all cost less than £50! I've made five hampers already and i've still got tonnes of stuff leftover.
I would be dead chuffed to get that hamper, it looks fab and very expensive!!What the Deuce?0 -
