OK, but the Acoustic Energy radio costs £140 (£199 less 30%), whereas the Logik IR100 costs £40 from Currys.jaz8822 wrote:Just wanted to add the Acoustic Energy Wi-fi radio into this thread
What does the extra £100 get you?

Anyone had problems setting it up.
I'm trying to get the list of stations but all that happens is I get a message of "dns server timed out" which, when you go to Reciva gives the really helpful information that I should check my network settings.
Any idea WHERE in my network settings I should be looking?
Google doesn't help as it gives 3 results - 2 from Reciva & one from some guy with the same problem
BTW firmware upgrade had no problems
NEVERMIND - did the factory reset for the 5th time and it found the stations immediately0 -
Am I right in thinking that your PC has to be on all the time when you want to use this radio? If you wanted to use it as an alarm clock, would the PC have to be on overnight?0

It depends on how you are set up.
Normally you would have a wireless router on your modem, and this radio will be permanently [wirelessly] connected to the net via this.
If you are set up with you PC as the gateway or server (uncommon) then yes, it will need to be on to make the connection0 -
Does it support all encryption systems, or just the (rather insecure) WEP?rehabrebel wrote: »You need to log in your WEP key0 -
Good question thefirs, as WEP will gradually be phased out. Any router enabled for WEP is not using the most secure system. I'll wait to see if anyone knows the answer.0

It supports WPA psk encryption - at least it does on minesomething missing0

Can anyone help?
I bought one of these radios today but am having a problem connecting. It finds my Belkin router and asks for the WEP key. I obtained the WEP key from the router site but it seems very odd to me - 10 numbers in pairs all under 5 - very simple - and when I entered it into the radio I received the message that the search had timed out.
Am I missing something? Can this be the correct key?0 -
