need some advice from other mums with sons of 12/13
DS has all of a suden become interested in s*x and trying to chat girls up but wont leave them alone i do mean just talking nothing else and i have found him with a flag pole in his boxer shorts twice recently is this normal or should i be worried? please put my fears to rest i have 2 girls so not really sure how to handle this and DH seems to think i would make a better job of it as he cant remember when he was 12
many thanks

southern scouser was trying to put it nicely
but you still havent answered my question0 -
To be honest I think your OH is trying to get you to have that all embarressing conversation with your son when it should be him having it ....father to son sort of thing!
Just beause he can't remember what it was like being a 12 year old doesn't mean to say that he doesn't know what sort of things your son should be told.
Would he talk to your daughters about periods etc just because you claimed you couldn't remember ? Nah didn't think so!2014 Target;

Sorry was just pulling your leg.
What can I say? He is 12 years old. Things start happening and it's constantly on your mind for years to come. I'm 26 so thats been 14 years for me!
His mates are probably talking it up so he feels he has to aswell. As for the old morning glory don't make an issue out of it. It just pops up for no apparent reason at the flick of a switch. Maybe give him some extra privacy, knock on his door and give him time to answer to say come in, that sort of thing especially in the mornings and at night.0 -
so i take it i am worrying over nothing and this is normal then?
as for DH explaining things i dont think he would know where to start without going red and stuttering so it all falls to me :eek:0 -
He's a lad.. of course it's normal...
The girls these days are worse.... they'll probably be chasing him like mad0 -

I don't have kids so I can't claim to know what I'm talking about but I have been a teenage boy!
He's gonna be getting to know himself if you catch my drift so personally I'd give him space, privacy and a box of kleenex.0 -

I'm glad it's not just my OH who leaves all the 'growing up' talk to me ...
But it all sounds perfectly normal to me. Although mine have never admitted trying to chat girls up.Signature removed for peace of mind0
