You say e2save will honour a claim lost in the post.

But e2save operate a catch - you say claims must be received within 30 days of the date of the relevant bill.

And to allow 30 days for receipt of the cheque.

Your colleague e2saverep also used this forum to say e2save honour lost claims.

But explained in another thread that you will honour a lost claim only if you are notified within the original 30 day period:

Hi guys, we accept the proof of post if your claim gets lost in the post as it is a rare occurrence. However for a claim to go through the proof of posting must be sent to us within the period allowed for claiming cashback (one month).

So how can a customer who sends you a claim which gets lost in the post comply? The customer doesn't know it has got lost until after your deadline for providing proof of posting has passed.

even if the claim does go missing in the post or we do not have any record of receipt, e2save (and im very sure coolnewmobile are the same) will still honour the claim as you do have proof that the claim was posted.

coolnewmobile cover this in their contract.

In fact they will NOT honour any claim lost in the post, even if recorded delivery is used.
Where an item goes missing in the post and you haven't got our valid recorded delivery signature, then the item will be regarded unclaimed
  • Quentin, I believe what the e2saverep meant by that was, the recorded delivery reference number provide must prove the bill was sent by the customer within the 30 days as stated in the terms and conditions. I do completely agreed with your comment but I can assure you we do not have a 30 day time period for all appeals to be made as we are aware we advised all customers to allow 45 days for their claim to be processed. I am advising this from e2save claims procedure and as you have already stated it does not seem coolnewmobiles terms and conditions are the same. I hope this clears up any confusion with e2saves claims policy.

    Not really.

Your colleague's post is quite definite and says proof of posting "must" be sent within the month allowed for claiming cashback:

You are now saying this is wrong advice, and e2save will honour a claim which is lost in the post provided the claimant provides a recorded delivery reference number at any time after it becomes apparent the claim is lost in the post.

But how do we know who is correct - you both claim to represent e2save!

Could you back this change up with some reference we can quote with e2save should this problem arise in the future as quoting someone called "Rebecca.e2save" posted it on a forum isn't proof of a change in policy!

Also you now say you need 45 days to process a claim. This is NOT what e2save's chequeback conditions say on your website:
Please allow up to 30 days for the cheque to be delivered.

No wonder these companies get accused of trying to confuse their customers!

I'm a bit concerned about CNM. I put in my first claim in March (recorded delivery)
They emailed to say it had been received and processed and verified and then nothing.
I emailed them 3 weeks ago and was told I would receive a cheque within 2 weeks but nothing. I have emailed them again and have now sent in my next claim but had no response to either. Even though the 2nd cliam was sent recorded delivery it isn't showing up as being delivered
Doesn't look like they are up to much at the moment and I wouldn't b surprised to hear they won't be trading for long!

I've had an orange contract with CNM and although they have been slow paying cashback, I have always recieved it in the end; three cheques so far.

My last claim is later than usual, so I phoned CNM and they said they are dealing with a backlog, but my claim is in processing. I sent the first two claims by normal post and all the rest recorded delivery.

I've certainly had no problems contacting them - it's a nightmare if your letter goes missing and I can understand your annoyance, but it's not been my experience.

    Best wishes,

I received my first 3 claims with CNM without a hitch; but I also sent a claim in March - which was acknowledged but no cheque - emailed them and got this response:

    "Ref:- 4th claim
I can see everything was received fine. Based on the date of receipt your cheque will be dispatched within next 4 to 7 days. We apologise for the delays we are encountering at the moment, however we are endeavouring to get payments out sooner if possible. Please continue to submit your claims as normal."

That was 31/5 but nothing so far; however I guess it's good that I got a reply - it at least means someone is still working there!

Just about to post my final claim - I hope they get their act together again soon!
  • Just a quick update from me - I recieved the cheque for my fourth claim, and an email to say that my fifth and final claim has been recieved and is in processing. I used recorded delivery and have had no problems.

I wasn't sure about which bill to send in, but I just phoned CNM and a very patient sould went through it all with me. Overall, I've been prety happy with them.

Best of luck to everyone else.
