This offer seems to have disappeared since Martin mentioned it in his e-mail................we're being watched!0

http://www.citibank.co.uk/personal/cards/cards_plat1.htm - looks like another Paypal transactoin .. mind you, you'd only be up £32.50 if the other citi post (aadvantage) is to be read correctly.0

Not sure where its gone?
Took me two attempts to get this card as they claimed they didn't have any record of my first application!
Getting a bit peed off with Citibank as they still haven't given me my free Ipod for opening their current account. They simply keep saying, you can come to London to pick one up from branch (only 200 miles away) or wait for a marketing guy to call you (been waiting 2 weeks and 2 emails and 2 phone calls later now!!)0 -
Yes, it is a little strange this offer. I have, in my opinion, a perfect credit history and have never been turned down for a card. I applied online for this on Wednesday morning after Martin's email and checking out the T&C's.
A relatively simple online application process with fewer than usual question but I was instantly told online that my application had been declined. I've not even received an email saying "Thanks for your interest but..." or anything in the post.
Has anyone been accepted for this offer while it was running or have Citibank realised how popular an offer it was going to be and decided to cut their losses?

Submitted application on Wednesday, 8th Nov - the day I received Martin's weekly mail, expecting the offer to be closed any minute, and was accepted instantly.Dagobert0

Recieved card yesterday from 'Shitibank' and activated it today. Shitibank have 'overseas' calls centres and they are obviously reading from a script. I asked a simple question of can you confirm that I have been included in the promotion (which I explained). After being put on hold for five minutes the guy came back and said in broken english, I can't find anything on your account for that promotion but it is likely you will recieve that offer. I asked asked again if he can confirm this, but he was about as much use as my 5 year old neice is as giving financial advice.
So I am no further on if I have got the correct card or if the promotion actually exists. I can't find any other number to call.0 -

Exactly the same thing has happened to me. Applied instantly, accepted instantly, cards arrived today, rang to confirm T&Cs of the offer (as it wasn't mentioned in any of the bumf) and am currently on hold to your six year old nephew (in India) while he tries and find out about it.
I'm going to escalate this as I think they're pulling a fast one.
I've now come off the phone after 26 mins (thank goodness for https://www.saynoto0870.com !). The CSR says he's going to speak to marketing and call me back later. (He also did advise me to spend £500 on the card and see what happens! )
Its so long since I've dealt with these dinosaurs that I had forgotten there were still cards that charged annual fees! And to have a CS number that is 0870 instead of 0845 is pretty insulting, but to actually have an 0870 card activation line! Brontosaurus!!

I applied for this offer before it was pulled and was accepted but I don't know if I will go ahead and activate it because the company sounds iffy. The terms stated though that there is no annual fee.£33 (£10 a day challenge)0

Citibank are a genuine bank who I have banked with for almost 10 years. Their call centre is a bit difficult at times to get any sense from but don't let that stop you from verifying the card.
I applied for the card on the day of martin's email last week and only today did we get confirmation by post that we had been accepted. I have to wait for another 7-10 days to receive it after they receive our signed confirmation of the terms and conditions so not sure if will be able to spend £500. When is the last date you can spend to ensure that you get the voucher?0 -
I applied and was told they'd get back to me within 7 days - have heard nothing!0
