Five year fix please until 1st April 2015.

Tier 2 including Online Discount and VAT

    Electricity 7.69p
    Gas 2.4p

Plus Dual Fuel Discount 2%, Direct Debit 6%
    No Tesco Club Points

Keep your eyes on the futures contracts, and buy them when you
can underwrite that price and still make a profit.

I see the short term panning out this way:

End of October 2009 FixOnline 4
End of December 2009 FixOnline 5, £35 cheaper than 4
End of February FixOnline 6, £35 cheaper than 5
End of April FixOnline 7, £35 cheaper than 6
Prices steady, then start climbing from October .

Assuming the lowest point for the long term contracts occur on the Ides of March, you can only conceivably offer products based on them in April. I will therefore wait till April, in the hope of a five year fix, and then pay the £30 penalty to switch to 7 on 1st May, bitter and disappointed.

This is just a ruse, of course. EON knows I am waiting for a cheaper 7, so 6 will be the cheapest, and by the time 7 comes out, it will be too late to switch to 6. So I pay £30 penalty to switch to 6 on 1st March. Then Eon will bring out FixOnline Spring 2015 end of April, so I am forced to pay another £30 penalty to switch to Spring 2015. By wrong footing me, EON will have gained £60 in penalty, very clever.

eonuk I'm pretty sure you need permission to post on these forums if you are representing a company. You should at least declare it in your signature.

FixOnline v6 ?? Not showing on EON site yet.
In my part of the world I'm only seeing one cheaper than v5 - First Utility isave v2- which would be ~ 2% cheaper-not enuf to switch. So still comfortably in the "top ten"
  • V5 is number 2 in my area though still 11% below the top. Interested to see how V6 competes.

    Hi,

Just to confirm version 6 of FixOnline is available and on the website, and I believe, all the comparison sites.

Also there are only three official E.ON Company Representatives operating on this site. These are Helena, Malcolm, and I (Brian).

    Regards

    Brian :)

FixOnline 6 has finally shown up, wasn't earlier today.

    For North West London, it's

    Electricity 22.1865p (1st 900kWh), 10.71p inc VAT
    Gas 6.5247p (1st 2680kWh), 3.40725p inc VAT
    DD6.0%, DF2.0%, Online 19.30%, i.e. total discount of 27.30%
    fixed till 1 April 2011.

This gives a payable Tier 2 of
    Electricity 7.78617p inc VAT
    Gas 2.477p inc VAT

    Nearly what I asked for.

Come on, make the online discount 20.20% and make it five year fixed and I could snap it up and forget about gas prices for five years.

v6 has 3.7% more online discount for me than v5 ! I estimate the savings pa @ £56 (based on last years usage)- but presumably I'll get caught for the switching penalty of £30 ???
  • I do not think you pay the penalty unless you change supplier. I have just switched from 5 to 6 with no penalty
