Has been asleep for 3 hours:o:eek:
TAG lovely kitties, I want one:D
Soappie make sure you dont do this....
I feel your pain cos we had no heating for about a week a couple of years ago, in the coldest November:mad:we lived in blankets and tiny wee heaters borrowed off anyone who offered
L-L I also noticed Diva hadnt posted this morning, hope she is ok:cool::heartpulsOnce a Flylady, always a Flylady:heartpuls0 -
I'm back! Had a fab night in London but a nightmare trying to get back home today. Was at Waterloo for 2 and a half hours before a train coming this way arrived and then it went the long way home - I got in just under 3 hours later than expected! Ah well, the gig was worth it
sexymouse - hmmm, Gunwharf; might be a bit far for me :rotfl: Only joking - I'm happy to meet up
mudbath - I am soooo paranoid in the ice and snow; I end up walking very slowly and a bit like a penguin!
pillion - gentle hugs for DS
AnW - glad you had a lovely day
soappie - hope things get sorted quickly"There's only one way of life and that's your own" - Levellers
"I'm feeling like a Monday but someday I'll be Saturday night" - Bon Jovi0 -
Soappie - No boiler!! Don't BG supply fan heaters on a temp basis. I'm sure they should if you have no heating at all. When are they actually due out?
Well, as you can imagine, Flying 0 - 10 Kittens
Thanks for all the replies and yes, I agree, they are sooooo cute!!:D:D:D
I think I did the right thing getting them a couple of days early to settle them in. Sweepy dog has had a big shock. She's desperate to play with them. But the one on the left is hissing and spitting at her as if there's no tomorrow and the one on the right thinks about it, watches her sister hissing etc and then joins in:rotfl:
They're both eating, drinking and cleaning themselves so I think they'll be fine once they've found their paws. Miss Tag will be sooooooooo excited on Thursday when she comes home. She thinks we still have to go and get them you see.;)
Had a phone call from Little Bruv this afternoon. He came home from Iraq yesterday for Christmas and New Year. But has to back shortly after.
Oh anyone know anything about Stieff teddy bears or Dehaven teddy bears?
See you all on the new thread. And I will keep up I promise Toots, I promise!!0 -
I love it!!!!!
What was the film.....was it Forrest?0 -
But, at about 3pm, I realised the rads weren't hot and after some investigation, the boiler doesn't want to light and is flashing two lights which indicate "software error". No amount of tinkering will get the damned thing to fire and produce either heat to the rads or hot water.
I have the homecare contract thingy with British Gas so phoned them up. Earliest they can come out is Tuesday morning  and that's with me being put on high priority (I told him I was old and cold and if they found me in a hypothermic heap on the hall floor on Tuesday it would be his fault). He took it in good part and laughed through most of the call - which is what I intended him to do - my ploy worked - I was bumped up the list.
But, the house is now getting colder and colder and I'm sat here with my thick towelling dressing gown on over my thick trousers and jumper. I might just offer to cook NN dinner tomorrow night in return for a soak in her bath.
Ahhhh me.... so please, no more talk about nice woodburning stoves and hot water for showers ...
Borrow some hot water bottles, make sure you've got plenty of blankets (and the dog) on the bed. Wear a hat, scarf and gloves. And keep busy... moving about keeps you warm. If they can't fix it straight away, I'm going away on Wednesday, so you could house-sit for me if you wanted. If the pipes are lagged you should be OK. Might be worth checking if there is anyway you can activate the pump manually to keep things circulating.

Anyone with the garage shed or attic still on their list then delete it!!! It was all a bit of fun from HRH because you all moaned so much but i am sure you all guessed that!!!
But look how many people have actually used the opportunity to at least make a start on their attics and garages.... it's probably no bad thing!
Carol service was lovely. I decided not to go for supper with my brother & SIL as it would have been a late evening for a sunday. So I'm just going to find some food, then I'll try to get a bit of the paperwork and ironing done, and possibly start on some truffles. Didn't go shopping... will have to do it after the physio tomorrow.
back later...0 -

have you seen this weather site - pop in your postcode and it gives it for your area and it gives it by the hour - I was given it by someone who fishes and they have found it very reliable.

:jTarah!!! I have one pair of curtains hemmed, pressed and hanging in the living room! Just two more pairs to go then!:j
The teens have put up the tree and the rest of the bits except for the card strings, so we are looking festive.
Today would have been Mum's 81st birthday, and I have always put up the decorations on 20th, which is when Christmas begins for me. It's been a beautiful day, sparkling sunshine, although very frosty. I was doing coffees after church this morning, then went to the carol service this evening. teensy bit of flying, just a bit of tidying and vaccuuming in the living room - it will have to be done again tomorrow, as there's a general dusting of bits of tree and tinsel.
Off to the new thread now...It is never too late to become what you were always intended to be0
