Skipton say "a guarantee that your rate won't fall below 2.50% until 31 December 2011", but it's still BACS out, not FP.
See-saw, ding-dong...
There's Scottish Widows at 3.01% including bonus of 1% for 12m... but variable, and again no FP outbound.~cottager0 -
Thanks for all the replies, I still haven't decided which way to go but it will definitely be one with fast pay. Thats what I liked with e-savings, if I used my debit card or a cheque I could instantly move money into my current account to cover it. I don't keep much in the current a/c but like to keep a few thousand in easy access which will earn some interest, not the measly 1% I now get.
I will probably go for a fixed bonus account as I like guarantees and I won't have to keep checking rates and move again.0 -

I agree, really handy. My Natwest bonus runs out end of Jan, but it's been brilliant this year having it in the same place as the current a/c, see both together and so easy to shift money around... I'll really miss it.~cottager0 -

Same here with my Halifax current.
When they paid a decent rate on the Websavers and as many withdrawals as you liked,it was really handy having it moved instantly.
I`m afraid the Halifax`s lost the plot with thier saving rates and conditions as far as I`m concerned.
At one time I had about 6 accounts with them,now only a current.0 -

Yes them too, so agreed again!
For me Natwest's always been 'home' for current accounts/daily use, but Halifax have been second home: I don't use my current a/c there except to get the fiver a month, but Websavers a lot. Before the Natwest eSavings bonus offer last year I'd quite often take WS 3-, 6- or 9-month rates for different pots of money I didn't need straight away but couldn't lock away long, and even when they matured the basic rate wasn't too bad. Then over the past year in particular a WS Reward and two FRISAs as well.
Now there'll only be the current a/c left + one new WS for 2 yrs, but I didn't want to lock the majority away for that long so it all went back this month to Natwest eSavings while my bonus lasts, and is in the process of being split all over the place.
I really do hope when (if!) things settle down more in the future, Halifax can restore that range of WS rates and periods which was so useful. If the basic rate went back to being fairly decent as well, they'd probably see a lot of my money back in a year or two's time, just for the ease and flexibility of being able to pop different bits into a range of short, medium and longer fixed terms under one roof.~cottager0 -
My Natwest e-savings ends soon too. I'm switching to Tesco.
It's the only account with
a) a decent rate (not the highest, but decent)
b) no restrictions on number of withdrawals
c) no complex balance requirements (like keeping more, or less than £x)
d) Faster Payments in AND out
So the best for moving your savings in/out regularly.
Unless anyone knows better.....
Just don't try to join today as it is closed. I can't get to see my statement to see if a transfer is in the account. Also, Tesco does not like Firefox which is more secure than Internet Explorer. Not impressed so far.0 -

I have no problem logging to Tesco just now using both IE and Firefox.0 -
I have a Tesco account, made a faster payment from it this afternoon, and it arrived immediately.0

I thought the limit was 3 per person?lloyds Vantage is fine (in fact good) and I have 5 of these too, but the tiered balance/interest rates makes it less appropriate for a daily-use savings account.Mortgage free I: 8th December 2009!
