Three counties clamping services

Comments

  • thanks for the help guys !!much appreciated, i am looking into it from every angle i can i will let you know the outcome x x
  • Exactly the same thing happened to me and this means war!!
I parked up last night after dark so had even less chance of seeing one of their smallest signs ever!
On returning to the car this morning, I found the clamp on with the notice for release (£125 - Cash only!).
They are totally illegal - I'm constructing an appeal but with a PO Box address (with postcode) and a mobile contact number, I am thinking they know how to disappear....

I have photos of the car park and all NCP signage.

Was late for a 2-day training course, which I missed half the day for, so plan to small claims that also!
Two tomboy females in a white van - shame I didn't get the van registration.

    Any advice much appreciated!

Follow peter_the_piper's advice from the earlier post above and make sure you claim against the landowner as well as the clampers (both are liable - you only need one of them to pay the claim and the clampers will probably disappear in a puff of smoke, leaving you with no recourse if you don't do a bit of groundwork to find out the details of the landowner):

    QUOTE peter_the_piper
Photo's of where parked and any demarcation lines would help. Land registry will tell you who owns the property(small fee)
Small claims court beckons, illegal use of sia registration and confusing signage/demarcation(if applicable) would make it relatively easy.

edit:- look at http://forums.pepipoo.com/index.php?...pic=43272&st=0 it has similarities to you.
    QUOTE

And like BFG says, don't bother with the appeal, that doesn't exist. You could also get the local press interested in this scam asap, at least it may warn others about the clamping racket and the publicity may help identify the landowner for you plus reveal other victims.

Finally, personally if I were you I would register and post a new thread on pepipoo (as per the link in blue) as they have experience of helping people get their money back from clampers.

You think we should be going the court route?
I've reverted from Appeal to Small Claims...

Thanks to all for your advice - I'll get on to the land registry in the morning and post the details here when I find out.

NCP Pay & Display Car Park - Fully signed, with a third-party contract car park slap bang in the middle (minimal "token" signage, binoculars required, no road markings - just lowered bollards).

What should I do with original documents ie. Clamping Notice, Receipt & NCP P&D Ticket? - the clamping company advised I should include this with my "appeal"

Yes. Any appeal is a complete waste of your time and may divert you from the job in hand - filing that Court Claim and recovering the money they extorted from you.

Read the thread linked to the pepipoo forum (blue link in my post and peter_the_piper's) and you'll get the gist of what to do. Keep all your paperwork - why do you think the Clampers ask for those docs back with any appeal? So that you lose some of your evidence, that's why!!

You have nothing to lose, you've paid the thieves already and a County Court Small claim will only cost you £25 or £30 - which you include with the other elements of your claim so you get it back.

HTH, goodnight and see you on pepipoo...:D

Have any of you lot sued NCP yet?
  • we cannot sue the ncp becoz they only own half the carpark the other half is owned by the home office apparently so we need to take it up with the home office not ncp

Are you sure it is owned by the Home Office? Who told you this? And that they employ 3 counties parking in the form of two female thugs and a dog to clamp people? Sounds very unlikely to me - I suspect a scam. Suggest you follow steps outlined above to find out who actually owns the site.

Anyone interested in this car park should hop over to pepipoo and look up the Clamped in Peterborough thread on the parking section of the forum.

It is clear that there is some kind of scam going on which may or may not involve NCP employees.

Someone over there has also looked up who owns the land and unless the Home office is now operating out of a Bermuda investment company, I think we can discount them as owners.

This are the land registry entries for the spaces concerned.
