All very well but not very informative. A little explanation might have served your campaign better. Many struggling families had come to rely on them to eke out their meagre incomes. Nothing lasts forever of course, but thats why they did it.
It's not really Tescos fault that theye are on meagre incomes, so why boycot them?Martin0 -
Thanks for this, I'll have to pop in again (didn't look last night - typical!). As for a boycott, doesn't seem to be making a difference in my local store. I for one am glad of the change, cuts down the amount of time I have to wait whilst someone moans at the poor CA about a 10p coupon that won't scan! :rolleyes:0

well my local superstore has NEVER taken any coupons unless you buy the actual product whereas the lady in asda said they will take any even if i didn't buy the item but i have never used any yet.I for one won't boycott as i depend on it for the deals for my family days out0

Thank you so much for this link domestic goddess.
I also would like to know if this is for real, and if you follow a further link from the link you have provided, it suggests other organisations are involved as well.
What else is going on under cover I wonder?0 -

And have you now probably made me feel guilty?
If we didn`t say things beacause one person might be hurt, we`d never say anything at all.
I said `please consider`. Report that as abuse and see how far you get :rotfl:Freedom is the freedom to say that 2+2 = 4 (George Orwell, 1984).

Sigh.
I was responding to the myth that couponers were all motivated by the desire to scam tescum. I did not ( as you are well aware) suggest that tescum were responsible for their income level.Freedom is the freedom to say that 2+2 = 4 (George Orwell, 1984).

I tried this coat on the other day, Infact I tried a few different sizes and colours and it was awful. The fitting was really bad and it made me look like I had a bad hunchback. I wouldnt even pay £10 for it, no wonder its reduced.0

Thanks for this, really nice tried it on when it was full price, so will be going back. I really wouldn't take any notice of a few people who are boycotting Tesco because they cant shop for free and scam Tesco anymore. Dont let them guilt trip you. Shop where you like, thats what money saving is all about.0

No-one that I know of the regular coupons threads was scamming Tesco.
Quite the opposite, the regulars on the printable coupons thread went to great lengths to point out where a coupon would not be acceptable to Tesco and we removed links where there were issues. Tesco had a policy to allow such coupon-use (clearly stating which coupons were OK) and on the MSE thread most of us took heed of the policy and stuck to it very carefully.
The thread in question was very friendly and the info about acceptable coupons was there until recently if any of you had wanted to shop this way (legitimately).
That's what moneysaving is all about, making the best savings you can, within the policies and offers that each store allows. That's what we did, cootambear included. Tesco did very, very well out of this policy for many years, they didn't lose out by any means.
Unfortunately, some idiots who didn't care what was and what wasn't acceptable under Tesco coupon policy did scam some unsuspecting stores in the West Midlands with high-value coupons that Tesco could not have reclaimed the money back on. It was a very, very large-scale fraud (duplicated coupons where the ID number was identical) by all accounts and that was the end of the coupon policy.
So I won't be buying the coat - but many thanks to the OP for posting about it. Useful info for those of you whose shopping habits are unaffected by the policy change.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
