Just dealt with my readings for yesterday.....
electricity has gone up again - an extra 4kWh taking me up to 68kWh over the week. Only explanatian I can think of is that I mowed the back lawn on Saturday (for the first time in 4 weeks thanks to all the rain, so it took quite a while to do and totally filled my garden waste bin - and overflowed into the spare space in my neighbours)
Gas is exactly where it was last week at 34kWh.
Total over the last 4 weeks is 257kWh on the electricity and 126kWh on the gas, so have now provided readings to my supplier and received a suggested bill of £36.72, which should be confirmed tomorrow or Friday. (Previous 4 weeks was 228kWh on the electricity and 183kWh on the gas, giving a bill of £36.84)Cheryl0 -
Your household's total energy spend over the last 34 weeks is £648.38.
For week ending 2nd August, 2009 your household spent £9.52 (+standing charge) in total .
Electricity A Rate: £8.11
Electricity B Rate: £1.40
Electricity C Rate: £0.00
Standing charge £1.61
This now makes my average weekly spend £20.68, 87kWu used and CO2 emissions of 46. This means that by the time I add in the standing charge, my electricity is currently costing me 12.78p per unit when I include the standing charge. So far, 10 weeks this year without heating of any description. I'm hoping we can make it to 20.I reserve the right not to spend.
The less I spend, the more I can afford.

Well 76kwn gas and 78kwh electric this week. I did boil washes in my washing machine and dishwasher so that accounts for the slight raise in electric. And it was colder thus the gas was up a little as well
Feels like we're well on the way to winter here at the minute

Feels like that here, too, Belfastgirl. It's miserable, cold and wet, with humidity indoors reading at 70% and temperature of 16 degrees. Strange, really, because during winter we're celebrating when we get the temperature UP to 16 degrees. I have just kindled a fire, the first in 3 months, but am only using sticks, paper bricks and a few logs to try to take the dampness off the air. Dehumidifier has been kept going full tilt 24/7 all year round, which must help a bit, as I'm emptying it every other day. It's just the prospect of coming in soaked and then nowhere to dry off wet clothes that gets to me sometimes. I was hoping to get 20 weeks out of the year without using any form of heating but that is not looking very likely if this cooler weather doesn't improve soon. But it does always rain first week in August for our local show, so I can't really complain. :rolleyes:I reserve the right not to spend.

I have the TD going full tilt at the minute because I know there's no point in putting washing out unless i'm actually in the house and can bring it in and out all the time. I'd hoped to keep the gas especially very low over the summer but the weather is starting to really turn and I think DH is starting to see my brisk 'I'm not cold' statements for the MS techniques that they areFingers crossed it picks up.
The worst thing is that you do end up having to wash and dry loads more because clothes are getting wet when you're out as well as the normal needing washed type of thing.0 -

Thanks SMF, my only problem is that after saying that, I've kindled the fire to help take the dampness off the air and dry wet clothes. But it was a very frugal fire, not one banked up with coal - recycled paper bricks, sticks and logs, no impact on electricity and mainly carbon neutral fuel.I reserve the right not to spend.

I'm on B for all users and low rise flats at the moment. It's 17 C in the living room and I'm wearing a woolly jumper.0

Isn't it strange how we celebrate managing to get a room to 16+ degrees through winter, yet we feel it's far too cold a temp during summer? :rotfl: I need some way of storing summer heat over the [STRIKE]5[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]4[/STRIKE] 3 decent months and then releasing it slowly over the [STRIKE]7[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]8[/STRIKE] 9 lousy months.I reserve the right not to spend.

readings for last week have left me on (the 'D' side of) an 'E' for both badges
readings for this week show exactly the same use on my gas as 5 of the previous last 6 weeks. Electricity is up slightly (8kWh, which is actually slightly more than 10%!), but I've had elder son home since the early hours of Saturday - and he leaves his laptop plugged in 24/7, regardless of whether he's actually in the house or not.... and it doesn't even put itself to 'sleep'He's also a pain for leaving lights on - had to turn two off yesterday around meter reading time, one of which had been on for at leaast 4 hours after he'd gone out and the other had been on over 24 hours (a room we rarely use)
I've now changed my headcount from 2 to 3 for the next 4 weeks to reflect him being home, so I'm very hopeful that I'll see an improvement in my badges for that timespan - based on the fact all the 'background useage' will be split between 3 instead of 2Cheryl0
