My partner runs himself ragged in a well paid job and we do all the money saving tips, I cook from scratch most nights spending a tenner a week at the local market and barely make enough to cover the bills. we rent privately £450 a month.no housing benefit nothing. to know that stupid girls barely out of school who can't keep their legs shut will get everything paid for them. Disgusting.
Not being funny, but think your post is uncalled for and way out of order to be fair.
Maybe some of these girls WANT a baby, maybe the state has failed them as schools don't offer correct learning.
Think its very unfair you branding them disgusting tbh, can you refrain from saying such on any of my postings please.
Thanks for all yor replies, in fact the father lives with the girl who is pregnant, they don't claim housing benefit and rent privately.
There a nice couple, engaged and stable, so for everyone thinking its another teen pregnancy, its not, its been well planned and they are wanting the best for there child.0 -

Of course, how stupid of me. It's the States fault.
Here we have yet another example of someone who has never contributed anything to the country. Taking everything she can for the next X-Amount of years.
Why are you so suprised when the people who have worked for years have a moan? Personally, any able bodied person who has not paid at least 5 years continuous NI & Income Tax should get zilch.
It's coming, and not before time.0 -

I want a red Ferrari, to be draped in blonde loveliness , to live in a big detached house in the Cotswolds and to be rich enough to not have to work but I'm pretty damn sure i wont get at least 3 of the above!

this despite flogging my tripe out for nearly 30 years so far.
She may well be with her man but it appears she wants us all to pay for it but then she is entitled to it after all.0 -

I know what you mean about low aspirations and the desire to have a child to fill some gap, that occurs in some deprived areas.
I think it's difficult for any of us to understand the mindset of this 'culture' unless we've been there. I'm not blaming the govt as such but we have big problems in this country, and ones that won't be solved by hurling insults at those in the midst of the worst parts.
But anyway, that was OT.
If she has a partner living with her they will need to make a joint claim and that impacts on the type of help she can receive.
How much does her partner earn and how many hours does he work? Also, how many bedrooms does their house/flat have?0 -
Morning. I really feel for this girl, I see how my friends daughter has realised its not the big easy fairytale she thought it would be. But I cant understand how a 16yr old girl can see this as a 'stable' situation. She is only a child herself and we know how 16yr olds think they know best and then the next day they change their minds. For this to be 'well planned' surely means she was not only underage (I was 16 once and know people do have sex before 16 and this im not commenting about) but she really was only a child planning to have a baby?? She shoud be planning a college course or A levels or earning her first wage and blowing it on the latest fashions.
Poor girl. But good luck to her.the deed is now done and I hope she can realise theres more to nappys, especially after the initial 'Ahhhh isnt baby cute' first couple of weeks when she is inundated with visitors but then they fizzle out and the reality hits home.
Im only commenting like this as I know about the realities my friends girl is experiencing. Hopefully my previous comment was more useful.
I really do wish her well.May £10 a day challenge£19.61/£310Ebay challenge...£12.61/£2000 -
Reality will hit home when the baby is crying at 2am in the morning and probably for the rest of the night!
Reality will hit home when money is tight, bills need paying and the child needs new shoes.
Reality will hit home when you want to go out for a friends 18th birthday party and you can't get a babysitter so you can't go.
I would be mortified if my DD wanted a child at 16 and enquiring about benefits. I'm hoping she'll go to university to enjoy herself.
Bizarre thread!Be happy, it's the greatest wealth

I'm sorry - but if this pregnancy has been planned and they want the best for their child why on earth did they not wait until (a) the girl is a little older, and more mature (she's little more than a child herself) and (b) until they (the parents) could provide for the child themselves?
That is not wanting the best for their child - its wanting the best that others will provide for their child. The girl herself has hardly had a chance to contribute to the society in which she lives - and we know nothing of the father and his circumstances.
Teenage pregnancies do happen - unplanned and unprovided for - and when these girls need help and support, I agree that we can and must help them so that they and their babies can live happy healthy lives.
But a planned pregnancy at 16, with a view to living on benefits as the best for the baby ...oh dear
