Hope nobody minds me butting in with a quick question - I've had a fairly quiet few weeks MS-wise in my little town, so haven't had much to say! Anyway, a pub meal has come up on RE quite close to my house, which I'm thinking of accepting for me and OH. However the last pub meal I did for them (for the company with the name of cutlery in the title!) had me swearing I'd never do a pub again... it took me 2 hours to do a report with over 100 questions, and the meal wasn't even nice! Anyway, this new job a different pub chain (colourful royalty!) - just wondered if anyone knew what the reports were like for these, and if it's worth doing?
Many thanks in advanceHope I've included enough information for people to know who I'm on about, without including *too* much - let me know if it needs editing!
Oh, also I read quite a few pages back about GAP having a new system of phoning people to offer them a few jobs at once now, instead of putting them on the job board? Just wondered if anyone had heard anything more about this? I haven't had a phone call, and there's not been much on there at all in my area lately. I've done about 30 jobs for them now, and even rescued them with their rubish burgers a couple of times when they've phoned begging me to do it - so feeling a bit left out now!
Thanks in advance xxxClique member no 1.:D0 -
If you check the bit where the print is in red...click the view questionnaire and it will show you the questions. I too think 103 questions is ridiculous.
Oh brilliant, thanks Hollypear - I didn't know you could look at the questions in advance, doh! I always just click on the assignment notes link. Hmm, 40 questions which isn't quite as bad - but of course they all have that famous RE line 'please provide detailed comments' :rotfl:Think I'll pop in later and see what their menu is like, and accept it if there's anything nice on there, but not bother otherwise

Just finished the pub reports for RE. Blimey!
Will certainly not be doing them again in a hurry. Certainly not worth the fee to carry out the assignment and then fill out the 10 page report.
I also have had no calls from Gap - shame as I like some of their shops and there's been nothing for ages.'Fear is the path to the dark side. Fear leads to anger. Anger leads to hate. Hate leads to suffering.'

Hi, I have a question re GR - I have been a member since February but have had nothing from them. Is this normal ?
Also, quick question re tax. I registered as a MS end of February with a few companies but have just done my first job today. Does the 3 months I have to register as self employed start from receipt of 1st payment of the day I registered to do MS ? I am now employed part time so will the self employed part be totally separate from my employment ie does my employer need to know about the MS side of things ?
Thanks.0 -

The only thing that puts me off (being a girl) with gap bookies is one bit. Not sure if I can mention the brief but its the 2nd sentence and its got nothing to do with placing the bet. It was discussed a few pages back about having to check these in a petrol station.0

I know exactly what you mean - I think. I am very particular about where I relieve myself (is that what you are getting at?)
I know we only have to take a look in order to complete the report, but I am worried about asking as I think that's akin to a big flashing sign over my head saying MYSTERY SHOPPER! However, I have been lucky and grabbed a couple of these jobs. I've fancied this for a while as I am a closet gambler (or at least I think I could be, given half a chance).
Anyway, would appreciate advice from you experts please.
Also, Josie are you around? Did you grab the Boro ones as I noticed they vanished in the blink of an eye???!!!!0 -

Don't let it put you off - you don't actually have to use the facilities - just see if they are clean. To be honest when I started doing these jobs I expected the Gents to be horiffic but usually they're ok (except once when someone hadn't flushed )
Edited to add - if they hadn't flushed and it was a RE job I would be grateful as it would give me something to write in the comments box!Happy New Year :beer:0 -
I don't see how being a girl makes you more fussy about toilets! Are you saying guys will happily do their business in disgusting facilities?
Like others have said, you wouldn't actually have to USE them. And I don't think it would necessarily flag you up as a mystery shopper. Certainly not anywhere near as much as asking for a receipt in the burger shop does anyway!Dan
