Weekly Spend Challenge W/C 8th Feb

This challenge used to run every week (thanks to Moozie and PAP) but I have not seen it in a while so I hope no one minds but I need this to keep me on track ...
Hello everyone
. Welcome to the weekly spend challenege. This challenge is open to anybody, no matter what financial place they are in.
On this thread please post an amount of money you wish to stay below within the week (Sunday to end of working day on Friday). This can be pennies or thousands it depends on the individual. Then next Saturday report back and pledge for the following week. Feel free to update this thread with daily spends if that keeps you on track.
This is a little bit of fun but for many it highlights the fact that maybe that magazine/chocolate bar isn't needed. Hopefully your spending habits can be changed forever.
Moozie was the founder of this challenge and here is a quote taken from her around last year

Hello fellow budgeteers
I am a bit late setting up the thread this week as I have been away this weekend.
I am going for £30 this week as this is my set weekly spendbudget. I am going out for dinner with my bookgroup tomorrow but I think I am going to take this out of another budget or at least some of it or I will never make it to Friday.
This will include all spends other than groceries or anything else that has a specific budget like toiletries.
:T:T:T:T:TEveryone seems to have done so well last week there are very few reds. (one of them being me
) I suspect this week will be harder if the weather gets better.
Welcome to any newbie budgeteers:beer:
F_F how did the haircut go? I have been putting off getting mine done but I know it will have to be done soon.

Hi Pointypenguin
Thanks for the new thread, my spend for last week was £6.55, so within the £10 I'd set for myself. I can see you've already put my £8.45 up for this week, thank you!
Am having a NSD today - have been out to the shops for some extra veg for dinner this evening (food budget), but stopped myself from buying a lottery scratchcard cos I wanted to report a NSD!!!
Tomorrow should be a NSD too as I have to work through my lunch (and lunch will be provided, :T yay!), so no opportunity to get out to the shops.
Have got a couple of sales on ebay today, so will have to venture to the post office at some point in the week, so temptation will be there!
Good luck to everyone!

Mark me green!! Mark me green!! I spent nothing last week

The haircut went well - and I was being introduced to the salon it was only £14! I took my £30 from last week to spend and even with my train fare and my *ahem* coffeeandbigbitofMaltesercakeinthecafe I only spent £23ish. I put some in my Sealed Pot and £5 towards my overdraft, so I feel like a very worthy woman. With kick*ss hair
I still have really long hair, but she put some layers through it and shortened it a bit at the front so that I have shorter bits that frame my face. I really like it. Even better, when I couldn't find my hairbursh at 5.30am I could just run my fingers through it and I looked passable :rotfl:
Today is a NSD for me, and I want to be on track for spending nothing this week too. I like a challenge me!!

Ok I am going to join, and am excluding my general petrol costs - I am only going to spend £20 on going out, special things for me etc

Thanks for adding me to the challenge. Had a busy day today. Took ds to a birthday party. Thought i was gonna have to buy drinks and snacks for him but it was all included so never spent anything there. Had to pick up some milk and bread on way home so total spend so far is £2.93.
I've decided what ever is left of my £30 i'm going to put in my sealed tin at the end of the week.£387.39/£196.46

welcome bigbeff I have added you to the list.
Well done F_F sounds like you have made good use of your funds. A haircut for £14 is a bargain. Mine is double that.
Nickynoo sounds like you have made a good start to the day. Keep up the good work.:TWeekly Spend Challenge: £0/£30

I saw Riverdance yesterday, and it was really fantastic! :j I honestly didn't think I would enjoy it as much as I did...
Tickets however were £41 each!!! But... OUTLAW mother bought the ticket for me, as a thank you for all the support I've given her over what has been a really difficult year. (OH's younger brother has a brain tumour, has had lots of treatment, and still has tumour left...
) So, I spent £7 on a programme for her, 80p on some starburst sweets, and £1.10 on parking.
Is a good job really, as my £30 was meant to pay for my ticket too!!!
Have a good week all....
