Weekly Spend Challenge W/C 25th Jan

This challenge used to run every week (thanks to Moozie and PAP) but I have not seen it in a while so I hope no one minds but I need this to keep me on track ...

Hello everyone a010.gif. Welcome to the weekly spend challenege. This challenge is open to anybody, no matter what financial place they are in.

On this thread please post an amount of money you wish to stay below within the week (Sunday to end of working day on Friday). This can be pennies or thousands it depends on the individual. Then next Saturday report back and pledge for the following week. Feel free to update this thread with daily spends if that keeps you on track.

This is a little bit of fun but for many it highlights the fact that maybe that magazine/chocolate bar isn't needed. Hopefully your spending habits can be changed forever. clapping.gif

Moozie was the founder of this challenge and here is a quote taken from her around last year

The challenge is about incidental spending and not for stuff that should be budgeted elsewhere such as bills, groceries, debt repayment etc but you decide what to include at the end - this is about changing your habits and improving your recording of your spends more than anything else. Have a great week everyone and keep it low!!! Moozie x

Good luck everyone.:T

    Hi Pointy!

Thanks for doing the challenge again :D

I'm going for £30, although this might not include budgeted for stuff like entertainment (I have a set amount I use for this each month)

NSD for me today, so a good start to the week!

    Good luck all challengers!
  • a010.gif F_F hope you are well.

I am going for £30 this week but starting from tomorrow and this will include everything except groceries and my ticket for the theatre on Wednesday night but will include anything else I spend on Wednesday night.

Payday tomorrow so going to try and keep on budget and stop that dreaded last week before payday feeling at the end of the month.

Also need to get back to doing my PAD as have totally fallen off that wagon since about the middle of last week.

    Hello! Can I join in?

I've been doing the nsd challenge but I think this one will be easier for me to keep my unneccesary spends to a minimum.

Can you put me down for £20 please to start with, not spent anything yesterday or today so going good so far :)

i've decided to include Saturdays into my budget - just to stop me spending loads on a day off...;)

Sooooo, spent £2.50 on an engagement card Saturday and £1.99 on sweets for the cinema last night (cinema was free courtesy of my friend who works there!) leaving £15.51 left for the week.

  • I'm very well thanks, how's Glasvegas?

What are you off to see at the theatre?

Glasvegas is as grey as usual.

I am going to see a play called Sub Rosa which is a promenade performance so you walk from one part of the theatre to another for each scene it has got quite good reviews so I am looking forward to it.

I will update the pledges, challengers etc later on tonight or else I will be late for work:eek:

    Happy low spending:D

  • Thanks Pointy!! I'm not going to include gym this week as I think it will be a regular thing again so may start up a direct debit (works out a lot cheaper for me!).

Got a poorly car as well so hoping its nothing major!! That obv wont be included in my £15!!!

Oh well pay day on Friday - then got to wait another week for it to clear!
    Just keep swimming
  • Can I please be put down for £20 this week, I determined to make it this week.
