The coverage of Flightchecker is very limited. What are the plans to increase this? Skyscanner has a whole page of airlines listed, yet Flightchecker only has SEVEN!

Incidentally, for anyone who hasn't been to Skyscanner lately, there is a new beta version running with a better layout.
  • Forgive me if I have this wrong (truly), bit there is no Durham Tees to Rome Ciampino.
Ryan air fly this route and it was there before.

I'm not trying to be smart as I know you have put some hard work into this, it was just to let you know.

  • Hi,

The FlightChecker currently includes prices for budget airlines who have agreed for us to obtain their prices. You'll notice, for instance that we do not include EasyJet, as they have declined our request to include their prices. We go through this approval process first to ensure that the airlines are happy for us to us their web-sites to obtain their prices. There are plans to extend our coverage, but it depends on how quickly other budget airlines can respond to our requests to include them.

The Durham Tees to Rome Ciampino route has now been added to the FlightChecker - please note it'll take a couple of hours to obtain some prices here.

Also, regarding the BMIBaby flights from Heathrow - these aren't actually fulfilled by BMIBaby, but rather their sister company FlyBMI (including these flights on the BMIBaby web-site obviously increases visibility). We currently only include the budget airlines that have agreed for us to obtain their prices. Therefore, FlyBMI's flights are not included.

    Thanks,
    MSE CheckerMan

  • Forgive me if I'm doing something wrong  but recently I have been checking flights..
    .eg Doncaster-Amsterdam £0.01p each way
I enter into the Thomsonfly website and its alot more expensive, because flight checker had trawled it 19hrs previously I thought this price ticket must have sold out already.
I did the same check this morning and again it comes up with £0.01 (trawled 30mins previously)but still £24.99 on Thmsonfly and no extra flights had been added.

    Is there a problem known?
Thanx ..so wish i could have gone...boo hoo

I too am having weird results from the checker. Tried checking "Any London" to Nimes for 29june - 1 July (got a wedding to go to) and kept cranking up the acceptable price all the way to £500 only to be consistently told "no flights available at that price. increase the amount".

Checked RyanAir directly and they are available at £85 return.

So, unsurpisingly, I am unimpressed by the checker.

How long before it is fully loaded and bug free?

Is it possible to get the flight checker to have prices between button.

    Thanks

    Darren
  • I could not really use this as it does not allow you enter a destination. I wnted to go to Athens but no way can you put that in? So had to go to other sites to get flights.
  • Planetdanii, Mike-C,

Apologies that the prices you received were either incorrect or not returned at all. This should not be the case, and I hope your further use will receive correct results.
We're always improving the service to ensure that the prices are correct. Some web-sites do have periods of downtime and error, and this does have an effect on the FlightChecker. Also, when the airlines change the structure and layout of their web-site, this can cause minor errors to occur.

    Darrenforward,

The FlightChecker is in place to find the cheapest flights possible. Therefore, there is no need for a "between 10 and 20 pounds"-type selector. In that scenario, anything less than 20 pounds is what you'd be looking for.

    Satnamgill,
Currently Athens is not a list of destinations available on the FlightChecker. We currently only include flights from a select group of budget airlines. Unfortunately, none of these fly to Athens.

    Thanks,

  • Can flight checker be programmed to have regional "requests" like "Londan All"

I find it a bind to have to go from one departure airport to another time after time.

eg ( I live in York) and within 1.5 hours there are many airports Newcastle thro to East Midlands which are equally accessible.

Why not have a Norther Airports grouping, a Scottish airports grouping, a Midlands airports grouping?
    cheers
