how long does it take to open this account, aplied on tuesday and received the forms to sign today and have just posted it with the opening cheque and standing order form, does anyone know how long it takes for them to open it??

I read somewhere in this forum it takes around 4 weeks, a lot can change in the banking world in 4 weeks! :rolleyes:0 -

Took me 24 days. My initial cheque was credited to my account 7 days after being sent. Registration for Internet access took another 17 days. The process I went through meant they sent me 3 letters and I had to reply to 2 - that's what comes of banking with a grocer, though at least they are not exposed to US sub-prime.0

It is a bit of a palaver setting up the account but once it's done it's fine - at least I've found it OK. There's the bonus points for opening the account too and it's an OK rate of interest - and they do faster payments in and out.0

Halfway through the painful Royal Mail process to open my 'internet' account!!!!!
The chap on the phone at Tesco said it confuses the old if they send all the necessary paperwork out in one go. Bloody confuses me that they don't!0 -

My application has been going awhile too and my cheque has not been cashed yet. I bet they are stringing it out so they wont have to pay any clubcard points out.0
