hi, would love to join in, if that's ok.... so for the month i would like to budget

    £200...

it's just me, and i would like to set the bar lower, but would rather come in under the first month than over as it might be more of an encouragement.... (of course i could completely blow it out the water and treble it or something awful....)

i might need to come up with what other things i should be budgeting for also as it would be good to know where else i'm frittering my money...

sorry had to dash earlier.... all of you seem to have soooo much will power, i have enough trouble sticking to a recipie plan for two days i'd never manage a month.

i need to get all organised and cook only form the freezer for a while so i can defrost, and rotate my stock when i stock up again...

    Morning folks!
Bit  cuz the offspring had invited some people over for a bbq yesterday & they didn't show! On Saturday, No1 took me muvva & I to MrA, & I was effa-so-:A in only getting what I really needed or things that were cheaper than I can get here [looked on mysupermarket.co before I left home ;) --but you can't always rely on that I've found :o ] when said child announced the bbq. Upshot was, we bought things we wouldn't have bothered with, so now there's 40 bread rolls to use up  there's no room in the freezer cuz the burgers & sausages are in there! Luckily I'd got a value assortment of dips--another thing we don't really eat at home--& the lemonade will keep...No1 & I split the bill, cuz there was alcohol, a sweater & other bits, making my spend £40

So, my resolve to only buy what we actually need as opposed to things we fancy on a whim, has already been blown out of the water  What is it they put on school reports? Ah yes...must try harder!

Hi everyone!:hello: Got distracted in September by too many weekends away etc so haven't kept track of spends. Back to it this month though and I'm going to stick my neck out and go for £75 from 1st-31st for 2 people please Mrs M
We have lots of food in the house and I am going to make a meal plan to acommodate lots of it and not buy things just because they're whoopsied!
Thanks to Pink, MrsM and Rosieben for running the thread, your hard work is much appreciated.
Good luck for the month everyone!

    Hi all
    Aiming for £470 in october
Done my big Ocado shop is coming out about £70 ish with vouchers off, will update sig when it is actually delivered. Will see how this experiment works- have bought all meat for month so weekly top up should consist of flour/ bread/ f +v/milk/juice/cereal and odds and ends. Did the shop online last night, was shattered so felt like a big chore but really struggled to spend enough to get the voucher off- before doing this challenge I used to spend £70 a week on my Mr T shop without even thinking

    Good luck everyone

Thanks Pink, Mrs M, Rosieben, Penny for all you do!

  • My goodness 4 pages already!

Well even though i declared last week I have managed to resist the temptation to buy anything else. Just working on my meal plan/shopping list for next week. Heading to Lidl this weekend so that'll be a nice change from Mr T, although I'm not as clued up on their prices so I'll have to watch my spending a bit more!
