Welcome to the weekly Flylady thread. If you need help organising your week when it comes to housework, or just the motivation to do the dreaded housework tasks you have to do, come and join us, hopefully make it a little easier. You never know, you might start to enjoy it!
Following requests to start things steadier for new members who did not realise the tasks list wasn’t a must do, just an encouragement. There will now be level 1, 2 and 3. Level 1 being very basic it has been requested that this is just one task per day, level 2 in the middle, up to 3 which is more advanced and time consuming. If you want to do level 2 you add the tasks on level 1 with the level 2 tasks, if you want to do level 3 you add the tasks on, easy peasy. Choose a level to aim for but be realistic, if you’ve got a busy day on or are just starting etc aim for level one, if you get higher then great, if not then not to worry its only suggestions. Every room comes back around next week. Trust me some days I'll only be doing level one myself.
THESE LISTS ARE ONLY SUGGESTIONS AND NOT A MUST DO LIST, ALWAYS WELCOME TO POST AND FOLLOW YOUR OWN.
Also adding a declutter mission each day. Another one where it’s up to you if you want to do it or if you need to. This follows requests from members who are looking to declutter. Fling boogies, hotspot clearing, cupboard sorts, drawer sorts etc will all be on this list. Any problems with this of any suggestions do please let me know.
A few of the basics before we start the week
Hotspots are any areas which if one thing gets put there, loads of other things follow!
Daily routines are anything you need to do on a daily basis like washing, swish and swipe kitchen and bathroom, ironing, making beds, vacuuming high traffic areas, making meals etc
Night-time routines are all things which make getting ready in the morning easier, preparing clothes for the next day, making lunches, swish & swipes of the kitchen and tidying the living room before you go to bed plus personals like shower/brush teeth etc.
27 Fling Boogie - stick on some loud music, grab a binbag and whizz around the house finding 27 items that can go out with the rubbish, recycling, for charity shop, basically anything that will stop it cluttering your home.
Swish and swipe means have a quick wipe over an area such as a sink or toilet to prevent the build up of dirt. This is usually done on a daily basis
HHE/HHC/HHI Half Hour exercise/challenge/ironing ... run around for 30 minutes to the Benny Hill music frantically cleaning exercising or ironing.. other music may be used if you prefer!
5GC five minutes gardening.. make it lovely for your spring flowers and sowing
Ok here goes this week!
Monday Mayhem - Living Room, Hall and Stairs
Level 1
Vacuum through the living room, hall and stairs
Level 2
Dusting, even if around everything
Remove clutter making sure stairs especially are safe
Clean windows and all glass.. including the tv screen
Clear the mantel and only put back the items which are supposed to be there.. and that doesn't include letters, keys or other treasure!
Level Three
Wipe and water plants
Put all your hotspots in one pile and work your way through it..
Vacuum under furniture you can manage to move without hurting yourself
Extra Mission: Pick one or more of the following tasks –
Level One
Clear and wipe kitchen surfaces
Level Two
Sweep and mop floors
Clean the fridge.. get rid of all those furry things growing in corners!
Wipe dining table.. (clean table cloth if necessary)
Level Three
Dust any extra furniture in dining area, checking for cobwebs on way round
Wipe and replace all those small appliances.. kettle, microwave etc
Clean cupboard door fronts and fronts of appliances .. don't forget those kick boards..
Clean out your mankiest kitchen cupboard..
Extra Mission : help yourself
Level One
Clean floors in these rooms
Level Two
Clean baths, toilets, don't forget the outside! and sinks.. shine the taps with a toothbrush
Clear any clutter from desk
Dust PC and desk and wipe off those cup rings!!
Wipe keyboard, house phone, sockets, switches and mouse etc
Level Three
Wash your bathroom mats, nets, clean blind/curtains etc
Scrub down tiles in bathroom.. defragment your pc while doing this.
Empty and clean out all the upstairs bins!
Clean shower screen/curtain if you have one/if required
Collect all the dirty laundry
Extra mission: Take your pick!
Level 1
Check fire alarms are working
Remove and wash bed linen and duvet covers.
Fling open the window and let in the rain sunnyness
Level 2
Dust surfaces & make sure no cobwebs..
Vacuum & turn mattress before replacing with fresh linen..
Air the duvet
15 minutes floordrobe clearance
Level 3
Vacuum floors in bedroom and on landing
Sort through a cupboard and fling everything that is dead
Clear a hotspot.. or spend 15 minutes clearing one.
Extra tasks list, as usual choose one or more
Friday Flyday- those frightening kids rooms and spare rooms
Level One
Clear away anything that isn't in it's place, clothes, toys, books etc
Spend at least half an hour doing something for yourself!!!!! paint your nails, make an appointment to have your hair done, a lovely soak in the bath.. whatever you feel like!! I'm having my nails done this morning as usual
Level Two
Vacuum the floor
Dusting.. all those shelves and flat fluffy surfaces!! Don’t forget the light shade and curtain pole!!!
Strip beds, turn and vacuum mattresses!! and replace with fresh linen .. check if duvets need freshening up too!! Wash the curtains!
Level Three
Clean 2 windows
Sort through a toybox and make space for santa coming!!
Wipe any sticky marks off walls and doors
Extra Task List
WEEKEND Frolics
For those who have extra weekend time and can't function without tasks... lol If you don't have time or want to spend time with your family that is brilliant.. go for it. It is a list of 10 tasks to do over the weekend if you get chance.. no pressure at all.. just ideas and reminders and wintery preparations!
This is also a chance to get hubby's and children involved in the flying.. yes I am this funny for real!
MACAW's will be optional from next week.. These are for those who wish to change their lifestyle, nice and slowly, make a change a week. This can be whatever you wish it to be.. housework related or life related.. whatever makes your life easier!!

- Wipe down any paintwork that needs it.
- Binbag dance.. Get a binbag.. fill it and bin it!!!
- Wash any cushions, throws or curtains that need it.. Do you need your winter curtains up yet?

Level Two
Sweep and mop floors

- Run the WM through 'clean cycle'.. hottish wash with a splosh of vinegar, soda crystals bleach.. whatever you fancy just clear those pipes of gunge!
- Wipe down any tiles and shine those taps.. a toothbrush is great for cleaning away the gunk!
- 31 fling boogie..
- Wipe over the oven and hob
- Empty the bin.. wash it out.. and make it smell SWEET
Level One
Clean floors in these rooms
Level Two

- Make a long list of those bodies you need to purchase christmas gifts for!!.. 98 days!! lol

Fling open the window and let in the rain sunnyness
Level 2
Dust surfaces & make sure no cobwebs..

- Work yourself to level 3 in your messiest room!!
- Clean out and groom and smelly pets!!
- Wash all the uniform bits and get them ready for Monday.. Homework done please!
- Fill a binbag of things to get rid of.. charity/bin etc
- 15 minutes hotspot clearing
- Write a cupboard inventory.. include the freezer and fridge.. end of month starvation in here!! lol Mealplan for the week.

I'm in again this week - in one way I hope I don't have too many interruptions from w*rk as I want to fly, but in another way, I hope I do, cos I need the money.
Polkadot I'm posting this here, cos I expect you won't see it on the old thread, but a massive WELL DONE! That cake is far superior to the cakes I see in our proffessional cake shop. You should feel really proud of yourself, and we are proud of you too!
AnW'sMum - sorry to hear about your friend's Mum. How sad.
Froddington I'm glad that your Dad is doing so well, and a bigfor your twilight input tomorrow. Why do they always make these things on a Monday after work when you're still adjusting from being back after the weekend? It never seems fair to me. Although I suppose it gives you the weekend to prepare.
Valli I'm afraid that I haven't made the cake yet, as for some unknown reason, my printer was refusing to print anything yesterday. Also, I only had one cake tin, so went out today and bought a couple of 20 inch springform cake tins so that I can make it properly (I usually just use my one cake tin and cut it in half, but I'm finding that to cook the cakes all the way through, they end up a bit dry in this oven.)
Greenbee thanks for noticing my productivity in the HHCs. It definitely works to focus on one room at a time, as I can have quite poor concentration and get distracted by things along the way and then nothing gets finished.
Toots I used to sit here with a timer and put it on for 20 mins and then stop reading until I'd done at least 20 mins flying. Then I'd have a 10 min break for a drink and then get going again. I had the idea from when I was studying for exams, and this seemed to work for me then as it stopped me getting bored and distracted. As mentioned before, my attention isn't held easily when I'm doing things that I don't want to be doing. Incidentally, my bedroom was always very clean when I started my study leave, as I'd dust etc to get out of the revision.
Soappie I hope your drain gets fixed soon, and Valli that your boiler is fixed soon too.
Well I didn't end up going to the gym this morning, as my mum wasn't feeling well (sore throat and cold - they seem to be going around at the moment), so we're going next Saturday, and that way I can go to the bodybalance class that I've missed so terribly since I gave up. I did however convince OH to walk into town for lunch and back (3 miles total) as we both needed the exercise, so the morning wasn't a total waste of time.
OH has just called so I need to put the oven on for dinner. He's recording casualty, so we'll watch it when it's finished. Pizza and baked beans for dinner tonight, so nice and easy. (Not hugely great for the waistline, but it's a thin crust mozzarella one from Lidl, so not as bad as it could be.)
Hopefully see you all in the morning ladies. Sorry for anyone I've missed out.
