Just got back from PCworld, who reluctantly price matched with morrisons and gave a further 10% of the difference, as per their price promise! What a great saving!
These are the ones I got:
Lego Indiana Jones: Original Adventures (PCworld £34.99 but £15 at Morrisons, cost to me: £13)
MARIO & SONIC AT THE OLYMPIC GAMES (PCworld £29.99 but £15 at Morrisons, cost to me £13.50)
Mario Kart: Includes Wheel (PCworld £29.99 but £15 at Morrisons, cost to me £13.50)
Tiger Woods Pga Tour 09 (PCworld £29.99 but £15 at Morrisons, cost to me £13.50)
Super Smash Bros. Brawl (PCworld £32.99 but £15 at Morrisonscost to me £13.20)
Top Spin 3 (PCworld £29.98 but £15 at Morrisons)
Big Beach Sports: (PCworld £19.99 but £12.43 @ asda.co.uk, £12.99 @ play.com)
Superstars Tennis: (PCworld £29.98 but £9.99 @ gamestation.co.uk)
Game Party: (PCworld £19.99 but £11.73 @ asda.co.uk)
Golden Compass (PCworld £24.97 but £9.99 @ play.co.uk)
They will also price match +10% difference on any others that Morrisons are selling, eg Kung Fu Panda, but as you can see, I have already spent far too much in an effort to be a true money saver!
Remember to double check stock prior to going to PCworld. Morrisons is easy, there are bound to be several stores within a thirty mile radius and at least one is almost certain to hold stock of what you want! The Tennis one at Gamestation keeps going in and out of stock, so check online before going for this one, which will cost you just under £8 at pcworld. Hope you all manage to get what you want and dont forget to use quidco of 2.5% on 'collect' orders. Deal also applies to XBOX 360, PS3, DS games that Morrisons have on a reduced special which ends 14th September.

I have gained from advice as well as bargains here, so if I can help in any way, I am only too pleased to do so and appreciate your thanks.

How do you prove the prices at Morrisons? Or did you just say that they had an offer on?0

How does this work? I was off to try my luck at Morrisons after work tonight, am after a couple of titles. Do I go to PC World and tell them how much they are at Morrisons, or do I buy them from Morrisons and PC World and take the Morrisons ones back?
I'm confused.....I don't believe in doing things the easy way.....

Hi, in my case, I simply told them that The Todmorden and Halifax Morrisons had them in stock. The assistant went away and conversed with the manager for a couple of minutes ... he knew of the morrisons offer and so they didnt even bother checking! however, if you go armed with your local morrisons store phone number, you could tell them to check or insist they listen as YOU call them up and ask about stock.
As to buying from morrisons and then going to PCWorld, if its not too much hassle for you, there should be no arguments whatsoever with PCWorld, but I would check that Morrisons will take them back off you first. Good luck and save as much as you can!I have gained from advice as well as bargains here, so if I can help in any way, I am only too pleased to do so and appreciate your thanks.0 -
Hurrah! I bloomin love price match promises!
Although....this does not look good for my bank balance. Cheap games from Morrisons, I probably would have bought 2 or 3. Even cheaper games from PC World...I'll take one of each thanks!I don't believe in doing things the easy way.....

Excellent - I managed to get Tiger Woods from Morrisons earlier for £15, wanted Mario and Sonic Olympics and Super Mario Smash Bros aswell but they weren't in stock so will go in to PC World later armed with my receipt and see if I can get the others.
Thanks for the tip :-)0 -
Argh, not sure if theres a PC world in burton.. Wondering if i'd have any luck getting Mario kart from them

I take it you can't do the price match online with delivery?0 -
my PC World (Peterborough) said they don't price match Morrisons

Hi Biggad and Zorro. I am sorry you are having trouble. A few weeks back i also had trouble with them reneging and actually wrote to head office etc ... but thats a different story. When I went this morning, I went armed with their price promise printed out ... It clearly states:
'This applies to prices offered by retailers within 30 miles of your local PC World store and the UK websites listed below. '
You can find this on the home page of pcworld. However, when I went instore, they also have posters up all over the place too.
At first, the assistant told me that they could not price match because morrisons was not on their 'website list'. I politely pointed out that I had already rang their price promise specifc dept, 0844 561 0000 to confirm that it is ANY retail store within thirty miles and NOT restricted to websites alone!
If I were you, I would ring the above number, tell them of your problems, expense of going to the store etc, the fact that it is clearly misrepresentation and maybe even tell them that trading standards would be very interested. The pcworld telephone service has the ability to take your money over the phone and post your goods out to you, so maybe you should try this.
I do hope you succeed. I really despise stores that make a promise then wont keep to it, and I do actually feel they should be reported if they won't keep to their word!I have gained from advice as well as bargains here, so if I can help in any way, I am only too pleased to do so and appreciate your thanks.0 -
Ask to speak to someone else who knows what they are talking about. Morrisons are clearly a retail store within thirty miles.
Try ringing consumer direct 08454 04 05 06 and see what they have to say.I have gained from advice as well as bargains here, so if I can help in any way, I am only too pleased to do so and appreciate your thanks.0
