have been for a follow up appt with my dentist today - i have lightened about 4 shades so far but still have a bit to go - i have 2 syringes of 22% left but he has now given me 10 more syringes but of 16%
im doing this very slowly just a day or 2 at a time then 2 days off to stop any sensitivity so it is taking a while but im happy with that
Glad its working for you.
I've lightened a lot, don't know exactly how many shades, but from one end of the (tooth) colour chart in the box to the other.
I've got two syringes left (16%) to keep for topping up, if I want to in the future.
I did 5 days on then a day off as my gums were getting a bit "sting-ey".I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. hi, has anyone experienced whitening their teeth through the laser treatment? i really want mine done but struggling to find many places near where i live. I am located in the north east in County Durham. I'm prepared to travel a bit if i can get a better price. I've been quoted £370 from my dentist, but i'm not overly keen on going there as i've only been twice, once for a checkup and once for treatment and i wasn't impressed by the service.
thanks0 -
I shall merge this into our existing thread on whitening teeth. If you search the thread for 'laser' that may save you reading all of it!Signature removed for peace of mind0

Looks like another illegal beauty salon to me. Trying to palm off it's stock before Trading Standards shut them down.
Another spammer promoting it too???How to find a dentist.
1. Get recommendations from friends/family/neighbours/etc.
2. Once you have a short-list, VISIT the practices - dont just phone. Go on the pretext of getting a Practice Leaflet.
3. Assess the helpfulness of the staff and the level of the facilities.
4. Only book initial appointment when you find a place you are happy with.0 -

They get everywhere. Even Tesco have teamed up with one in their clubcard deals:

You could send me £30 and I'd flush it down the loo for you.
Or you could send them £30 and effectively do the same thing. How to find a dentist.

Hiya, everyone, I've been thinking (always a dangerous matter) and I've come to the following conclusions;
Basically, I trust a hairdresser to cut and colour my hair because they are qualified to do so, and I know if they spot something 'wrong' they tell you to see the GP who can then refer you on to a trichologist. I wouldn't expect her to start offering steroids to deal with a patch of eczema on my scalp.
I trust a nail technician to do false nails because they have the skills, training and qualifications to deal with them, but I wouldn't expect her to treat the RA in my hands.
I trust a podiatrist to deal with my feet because they have the qualifications and equipment to recognise problems, such as reduced blood flow, etc, and treat some of them, referring me on if they cannot. Someone putting on a scented lotion and painting the nails purple isn't going to be checking the pulses, even if she can tell me that it looks as though I have a verruca.
My optician tells me if the contact lenses are unsuitable for me due to their particular level of moisture, etc. He also knows my previous prescription, that I got an corneal ulcer from extended wear lenses 5 years ago within the first week, he's already sent me to get my blood pressure checked when my eyes deteriorated when I was pregnant (and it was fine). He can look up previous images of my retina to check that the medication I am taking for my RA isn't causing problems with my sight. The sales staff in the contact lens hut can't do that.
I trust a dental hygienist to keep my toothy gleam and tell me to see my dentist if she spots a potential problem, my dentist to deal with it.
I trust my dentist to balance a wish for improved appearance with the health of my teeth.
Why would I want to trust someone whose only motivations are going to be 'looking prettier' and making money when I can go to someone who is motivated by 'being healthy' 'looking healthy' and making money?I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll0
